Devaluation ICICI Bank Credit Card Devaluation Notice 3rd January, 2024 | Lounge access, DCC fees, Reward System affected

Starting Apr 01, 2024, you can enjoy One complimentary airport lounge access by spending Rs. 35,000 in the preceding calendar quarter. Spends made in the preceding calendar quarter will unlock access for the subsequent calendar quarter.
To be eligible for complimentary lounge access in Apr-May-Jun, 2024 quarter, you need to spend a minimum of Rs.35,000 in the January-February-March 2024 quarter and similarly for following quarters.

This updated criteria to avail complimentary domestic airport lounge access will be applicable for below cards:


Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC):
Starting Feb 01, 2024, a DCC fee of 1% plus taxes will be applicable on each International transaction carried out in Indian currency at an International location or transactions carried out in Indian currency with merchants located in India but registered in a foreign nation. This change will apply to all ICICI Bank credit cards.

Rewards on Rent Payment and E-Wallet Loading:
From Feb 01, 2024, rent pay and e-wallet loading transactions will not accrue any reward points.

*This change will not apply for Amazon pay ICICI Bank credit card

Rewards on Utility Payments:
You will continue to earn reward points on utility transactions as offered on your card. Starting Feb 01, 2024, the government transactions will be included under utility payment transactions. This change will apply to all ICICI Bank credit cards.

how does the bank expect customers to know wether the business is domiciled in india or abroad

I wonder if the previous spend thresholds were Rs 5k in the preceding quarter. Those are the conditions for lounge access on Sapphiro at least. Thankfully Rubyx and Sapphiro are excluded.

All gemstone cards are linked. So, combined 5k spends was sufficient to get you lounge access on all cards. 🤣

Not for long.... My guess is that threshold for these cards would be higher than 35K because ICICI is deluded that these are somehow "premium cards"

What about railway lounge access? The website only mentions airport lounge access. Is the condition for railway lounge access same or has it been changed now too?

What kind of move is that, it seems like you have Lounge Access on this card, but we won't let you use it.
Luckily Gemstone Card are still out of it, like the Rubyx or above.

More over, their reward redemption is also not that good. Just has the BMS BOGO Offer

I think this Railway Lounge Access thing needs to take off first so the banks start feeling the pinch before starting to limit the benefits.

Railway lounge access is not included in it. Railway lounge access costs way less than the one at airport and only a few stations have it. Even if you pay for it, it's around 250rs. And people don't reach the railway station 5 hrs before for railway lounges.
