INFINIA LTF SCAM OR REAL?

I recently got a call from a computerized call. I wish I had saved the numbers. It said press one for lifetime free HDFC card. I pressed1. The voice said I will get a call from executive. After 4 hours I recievedd a call (personal number) from a Hindi speaking guy who asked me if I was interested. I asked him which card. He said Regalia, Millenia and one more(I dont recall the name.) I told him I want only INFINIA & I have no interest in other cards. He asked me the name of card again and he said he will call his senior. A senior (Mehul Parmar as said by him later) told me that there is 75% chance. He asked me for my Aadhar, PAN, Bank statement & existing regalia CC statement(10L limit). He asked me if I had non HDFC card. I said yes & I sent my MAGNUS CC statement with 4.9L limit. He then said I had 75% chance of getting INFINIA if I apply by salary slip. I shared my last two months salary slip as well. He said there will be two confirmation calls from HDFC. One from local team and other from central team. He told me that I should not reveal that I have an existing HDFC CC. So when I receieved that first call I confirmed my demographic and working & current address details & when I he asked me If I handed over the documents physically, I said I sent PDFs by whatsapp. Later I received a call by Mehul Parmar who said that I should have told them I handed over my documents physically. I recieved another call from the "first verification person" who asked me only one question if I handed over documents physically. This time I said "yes". He said I will get a call from central team shortly & I will be told which cards I am eligible for.

Now I really wonder if all this is a scam & if yes, what sort of a scam id it. Mehul Parmar has contacted me by his "personal number" & so has his junior with his personal number.

If it is not a scam, I wonder if HDFC will really offer an INFINIA to someine who is already wholding a DCB card???

Bank people don't need adhaar , pan they have those already. They might ask DOB for confirmation that's all. Even physical documents are not needed if it's pre approved offer.

The whole conversation that you have mentioned here seemed like a red flag from the start. This is most likely a scam. Never share your personal details/documents over WhatsApp ever again. It can easily be misused.

Sounds like external agents but not scam. Can't be sure.
But I avoid dealing with third party agents like this especially sharing documents on whatsapp.

Dont worry. You will get a credit card.. I guess from Federal bank or IndusInd.. 😂
They were not from HDFC but from Bank Bazar!

I have applied through them
They missold me money back instead of telling millenia.
They are genuine third party agent but they mis-selled too much to many people

this might be:
1. scam
2. 3rd party agents
3. HDFC employees who want to complete their sales target of new applications.

you should have asked them to send an email from their official email ID. I always do this.
if they don't have official HDFC email id, I don't deal with them at all.

HDFC has a good enough mechanism to identify if a customer has existing credit card or not. and you denying it over phone call to the verification team would not make any difference.

I did get a second verification call. They offered me a few cards LTF. I said I want only INFINIA. She said the annual fee will be 12500. I said thats ok. And then I have recieved this from official HDFC

If you type your details now, it won't do a thing. You need to wait 2 days as mentioned. You will then see either "Approve" or "Decline" as per your application status.

HDFC tracking ID some time show not found and then in progress and then approved and then again not found.. so try again
