Hi,

Say you have one mobile number for your regular banking transactions (old account). This number is also associated with a CKYC record (PAN + Address)

But your aadhaar is say, linked to another mobile number and these days, many banks specifically require the Aadhaar number as well the mobile number linked to it to start onboarding for their credit cards/bank account (looking at you IDFC/AU Small Finance/IndusInd & others!)

Because the aadhaar mobile number isn't linked to your existing CKYC, and banks these days seem to fetch CKYC for every small thing, does it create a mismatch/failure point on using it for online authentication? Even if address on your existing CKYC record and the aadhaar are the same?

A little late to answer this, but the answer is: no. What I can tell you from my experience is, the CKYC record is primarily linked to your PAN, Aadhaar number, name, and DOB, and has got nothing to do with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number or address.

Now, if you open a new bank account offline with your KYC documents and provide them a new mobile number which is different from your other two numbers, your CKYC record will be updated with the third mobile number. But it won't cause any issues with your existing record available with other banks/financial institutions.

Also, that said, when you open a bank account online, they usually require you to provide them the same mobile number registered with your Aadhaar number; not with your CKYC number, since their systems are set to authenticate your credentials against your data registered with UIDAI, not with CERSAI (who manages the CKYCR). In most cases, the CKYC fetch/update operation happens much later after your KYC is authenticated, like usually after a few weeks or months.
