Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card Upgrade - Step By Step Guide

I have tried many possible options for upgrading my Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card to Edition Black variant in last few months, but failed.
Tried messaging edition twitter team, RBL Bank, but nothing worked. - RBL is not issuing Zomato RBL Edition Black credit card as of now.
The card was being issued on the mastercard network, so I thought that could be the reason.
Recently, RBI lifted ban on Mastercard (16th June), on 18th June, 2022 I sent an email to RBL Bank grievance team requesting them to upgrade my existing Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card to Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card.
I didn't received any call/sms/email from RBL Bank till now, but they have upgraded my existing credit card to Edition Black variant.
I was randomly checking my RBL Bank application, and found a new card was reflecting on my app.



The name of the card was Edition, so I was not sure if its edition black or RBL changed my card from visa edition classic to mastercard edition classic.
So, I tried checking benefit section, and found "10 edition cash for every Rs. 100 spent on dining", that's it... Only Edition Black offer 10% value back on dining.


If you Want To Upgrade To Zomato Edition Black Card-
1. First get Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card, If you want to know more about how to get Edition Classic card invitation, or Normal RBL Card to Zomato Edition Classic Card Upgrade, Follow This Thread - Steps for getting invite for RBL Zomato Edition CC
2. After getting Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card, email RBL Bank grievance team, (All Bank Credit Card Department Email IDs Here) and request them to upgrade your RBL Zomato Edition Classic Credit Card to RBL Zomato Edition Black Credit Card.
If you are lucky enough, you'll get Black card (Not Amex Black 😛 , RBL Zomato Black) soon.

Edit: RBL Bank issued me LTF Black, but it's depends on your relationship, they might not offer LTF to everyone. I'll suggest to get black first if you really want this card, don't push too much for LTF.
Disclaimer- This process worked for me, doesn't mean it will work for you either. Try your luck.

how to apply for add on card

Getting RBL Addon card is easy. No form fillups necessary. Just email them all details to cardservices [at] rblbank [dot] com. You will get it within 3 days.

well, technically, its the addon cardmember (to whom the addon card is issued with their documents), who enjoys the benefits.

primary cardholder enjoys primary card benefits.
addon cardholder enjoys addon card benefits.
simple equation.

if primary card offers 10% cb on birthdays. addon card should also offer 10% cb on birthday. no rocket science. if they do not offer that, then it can be challenged. I want to test it, but my addon cardholder's birthday is in January. my birthday is in February. so I cannot test it right now.

There are a few things not available to add on card members depending on card variant.

Like welcome benefits, airport lounges etc. Some banks issue add on card with even same number and then even bank offers can't be used for both.

So, unless somebody tried and verified, one can't be sure. Most of these cases are explicitly written in the sites, but no mention about this on RBL site.

That's Correct. Most things are mentioned, but not everything. And that is why we have forums like Technofino where we can try these tricks and share our experience.

I can only try in January. Before that if anyone tries and updates here, that will be great.

Guys, I contacted Edition 2-3 days back on Twitter and they informed me that the invite would reach to me in 24-48 hours. It has been more than 48 hours and I can't seem to find anything within my Zomato app. Is this normal or shall I reach out to Edition again.

It's normal, in my case they took 5days for sending invite, wait for few days then contact them in twitter

Same issue with me too. Points are pending for transactions starting from 26 of june. Maybe it's due to some rbi regulations changes taking place.

Also, earlier they did not charge fuel surcharge. But now I can see fuel surcharge added to previous transactions as well.

Yeah may be rbi guidelines but why they let us see transaction details and only rewards not credited ? I guess they may announce devaluation.

Don't know what's the issue is but maybe we need to use all our saved Zomato coins before devaluation happens. I will wait till Saturday then Sunday will have party with all my Zomato coins redeemed all at once.

I just had a word with zomato customer support they mentioned their system is down and it's expected to work properly by 15th July.
