Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card Upgrade - Step By Step Guide

I have tried many possible options for upgrading my Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card to Edition Black variant in last few months, but failed.
Tried messaging edition twitter team, RBL Bank, but nothing worked. - RBL is not issuing Zomato RBL Edition Black credit card as of now.
The card was being issued on the mastercard network, so I thought that could be the reason.
Recently, RBI lifted ban on Mastercard (16th June), on 18th June, 2022 I sent an email to RBL Bank grievance team requesting them to upgrade my existing Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card to Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card.
I didn't received any call/sms/email from RBL Bank till now, but they have upgraded my existing credit card to Edition Black variant.
I was randomly checking my RBL Bank application, and found a new card was reflecting on my app.



The name of the card was Edition, so I was not sure if its edition black or RBL changed my card from visa edition classic to mastercard edition classic.
So, I tried checking benefit section, and found "10 edition cash for every Rs. 100 spent on dining", that's it... Only Edition Black offer 10% value back on dining.


If you Want To Upgrade To Zomato Edition Black Card-
1. First get Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card, If you want to know more about how to get Edition Classic card invitation, or Normal RBL Card to Zomato Edition Classic Card Upgrade, Follow This Thread - Steps for getting invite for RBL Zomato Edition CC
2. After getting Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card, email RBL Bank grievance team, (All Bank Credit Card Department Email IDs Here) and request them to upgrade your RBL Zomato Edition Classic Credit Card to RBL Zomato Edition Black Credit Card.
If you are lucky enough, you'll get Black card (Not Amex Black 😛 , RBL Zomato Black) soon.

Edit: RBL Bank issued me LTF Black, but it's depends on your relationship, they might not offer LTF to everyone. I'll suggest to get black first if you really want this card, don't push too much for LTF.
Disclaimer- This process worked for me, doesn't mean it will work for you either. Try your luck.

Can someone list down the benefits of Black in comparison to Classic?
I am aware on 2 of them:
1. It offers Zomato Pro Plus membership instead of just Pro with the card.
2. It offers 10 RBL Cash on every Rs. 100 spent on restaurants.
Apart from these and compared to Classic, is the Black variant having any other difference in benefits offered, and is it worth the upgrade?
Also, will it automatically reflect in the Zomato app post upgrade?

I guess it has got Lounge Access with PP.

Hi Guys,

I tried read all the post before replying here, what I have seen is that people were sending mails to RBL & asking for upgrades. As an answer either RBL is denying or not replying anything on the mail.

If I read what Sumanta said in this forum correctly then in his case also RBL didn't reply anything but he checked in the RBL Application(Not Zomato) & he was able to see an upgradation offer posted on the card account.

Has anyone done this so far whoever was chasing with RBL & escalating to upper stakeholders??

after getting the white card, how long to wait before emailing them for an upgrade? also, if there was no reply from either bank or twitter zomato handle, is it possible that the upgrade was initiated at Zomato's end?

you can ask for upgrade immediately... but better wait for few month.

Sorry for bumping the thread again. But I really need to know how many people on this forum got the upgrade from classic to black card. And was it an LTF upgrade for you? Please, someone, share your experience in clear terms, whether negative or positive.

I think apart from technofino, I saw only 2 or 3 people mentioning that they got the upgrade. And only one mentioned LTF. And none confirmed that card is linked to Zomato.

Zomato Edition Credit Cards now started issuing in MasterCard World Variant .

Lol MasterCard gives entry level to premium all cards in MasterCard world only😂. Hardly see any standard or elite card.

Nope hierarchies are there Like Classic, Global, Gold, Platinum, Business, World, World Elite...

So far I have seen only MasterCard world variant - Yes First Preferred, Yes First Exclusive, Axis Burgundy and now Zomato Edition 😅.
