Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card Upgrade - Step By Step Guide

I have tried many possible options for upgrading my Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card to Edition Black variant in last few months, but failed.
Tried messaging edition twitter team, RBL Bank, but nothing worked. - RBL is not issuing Zomato RBL Edition Black credit card as of now.
The card was being issued on the mastercard network, so I thought that could be the reason.
Recently, RBI lifted ban on Mastercard (16th June), on 18th June, 2022 I sent an email to RBL Bank grievance team requesting them to upgrade my existing Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card to Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card.
I didn't received any call/sms/email from RBL Bank till now, but they have upgraded my existing credit card to Edition Black variant.
I was randomly checking my RBL Bank application, and found a new card was reflecting on my app.



The name of the card was Edition, so I was not sure if its edition black or RBL changed my card from visa edition classic to mastercard edition classic.
So, I tried checking benefit section, and found "10 edition cash for every Rs. 100 spent on dining", that's it... Only Edition Black offer 10% value back on dining.


If you Want To Upgrade To Zomato Edition Black Card-
1. First get Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card, If you want to know more about how to get Edition Classic card invitation, or Normal RBL Card to Zomato Edition Classic Card Upgrade, Follow This Thread - Steps for getting invite for RBL Zomato Edition CC
2. After getting Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card, email RBL Bank grievance team, (All Bank Credit Card Department Email IDs Here) and request them to upgrade your RBL Zomato Edition Classic Credit Card to RBL Zomato Edition Black Credit Card.
If you are lucky enough, you'll get Black card (Not Amex Black 😛 , RBL Zomato Black) soon.

Edit: RBL Bank issued me LTF Black, but it's depends on your relationship, they might not offer LTF to everyone. I'll suggest to get black first if you really want this card, don't push too much for LTF.
Disclaimer- This process worked for me, doesn't mean it will work for you either. Try your luck.

I’ll probably take if they’re offering LTF, otherwise will wait till my Pro Plus expires in 2023. Hopefully Zomato will be around 😛

If they offer LTF then only I will apply else I don't think 2000+18% will be justifiable. Best benefit is Zomato pro plus with Black edition.

I expect they will give you 2000 Edition cash in return for the fee - similar to Classic. If that’s the case the cost will be 360. The Pro Plus will be worth it if you don’t have already. In my case, I already have Pro Plus, so I’m ok to wait till it expires.

I'm a swiggy user and I have swiggy pro plus.
When I received Zomato edition cc, I requested zomato to upgrade me to Zomato plus pro but they said we have no such authority, it is chosen by our system.
Yes, if we get 2000 zomato cash then it will be a good deal because 360 for 1 year zomato pro plus is good.

If we have to pay Rs 2000 + GST then I think this is not a very good card
However if we get reimbursed 2000 in the form of credit or LTF, then definitely a good card to hold provided pro plus doesn't include condition on delivery distance Otherwise a pretty ordinary card to hold after paying Rs 2000

I would rate white edition over it as it is LTF if I have to pay Rs2000+gst

No limitation on delivery distance, as far as I can tell - haven't had this problem. I assume there is an obvious limitation where the restaurant too far off will not show up as an option to order from anyway. I don't know if there is a minimum order value though - Pro Plus page says free delivery on "all orders" unlike Swiggy One which has minimum order of 149 (I have that too). Personally, all my orders since I got Pro Plus have been free.

2. It offers 10 RBL Cash on every Rs. 100 spent on restaurants.
Apart from these and compared to Classic, is the Black variant having any other difference in benefits offered, and is it worth the upgrade?
Also, will it automatically reflect in the Zomato app post upgrade?

Doesn't matter, you have LTF or not, they will offer chargeable variant only, you can ask for LTF and try your luck

For people who are already having the active membership should be using it normally. It may not be available for purchase newly but they may be giving it with the card for the B2B contract RBL has with Zomato?
But yes, that again needs a confirmation from someone who has recently got an upgrade from Classic to Black.
