Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card Upgrade - Step By Step Guide

I have tried many possible options for upgrading my Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card to Edition Black variant in last few months, but failed.
Tried messaging edition twitter team, RBL Bank, but nothing worked. - RBL is not issuing Zomato RBL Edition Black credit card as of now.
The card was being issued on the mastercard network, so I thought that could be the reason.
Recently, RBI lifted ban on Mastercard (16th June), on 18th June, 2022 I sent an email to RBL Bank grievance team requesting them to upgrade my existing Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card to Zomato RBL Edition Black Credit Card.
I didn't received any call/sms/email from RBL Bank till now, but they have upgraded my existing credit card to Edition Black variant.
I was randomly checking my RBL Bank application, and found a new card was reflecting on my app.



The name of the card was Edition, so I was not sure if its edition black or RBL changed my card from visa edition classic to mastercard edition classic.
So, I tried checking benefit section, and found "10 edition cash for every Rs. 100 spent on dining", that's it... Only Edition Black offer 10% value back on dining.


If you Want To Upgrade To Zomato Edition Black Card-
1. First get Zomato RBL Edition Classic Credit Card, If you want to know more about how to get Edition Classic card invitation, or Normal RBL Card to Zomato Edition Classic Card Upgrade, Follow This Thread - Steps for getting invite for RBL Zomato Edition CC
2. After getting Zomato RBL Edition Classic credit card, email RBL Bank grievance team, (All Bank Credit Card Department Email IDs Here) and request them to upgrade your RBL Zomato Edition Classic Credit Card to RBL Zomato Edition Black Credit Card.
If you are lucky enough, you'll get Black card (Not Amex Black 😛 , RBL Zomato Black) soon.

Edit: RBL Bank issued me LTF Black, but it's depends on your relationship, they might not offer LTF to everyone. I'll suggest to get black first if you really want this card, don't push too much for LTF.
Disclaimer- This process worked for me, doesn't mean it will work for you either. Try your luck.

But it seems not much in store for us. You said in the beginning that you tried emailing RBL to upgrade your Edition Classic to Black but it didn't help. But at the end, you suggested the same: to apply for RBL Edition Classic and mail RBL to request upgrade to Edition Black. I guess that is not gonna work.

Anyways, can you tell if you got the Edition Black CC delivered yet? Is it mastercard or visa? (Just wanted to know whether they have issued you Edition Black based on Visa or not, since your Edition Classic was visa).

Also, update us whether your Edition Classic Cc got closed automatically, or both are active?

card delivered in kolkata, I'm at Murshidabad. 😂 can't check card network. I'll visit kolkata July 2.

Yeah waiting for update. Also, any option on RBL App OR Zomato App to Redeem Edition Cash against Statement (Cash Redemption)? They advertised it on their website initially but now not seeing it.

bro classic card was linked to my Zomato App, now I have black (manually upgraded), I think I have to request them again to link my black card to my zomato ac

They have one of the easiest process for addon card applying. 10% Cashback on my birthday and addon cardholder birthday (on addon card). So, it is a good deal. Total 5 addon cards can be applied against 1 primary card.

Add-on Card, by definition, gets all benefits as a primary card.

RBL provides different card numbers for each add-on card. So, you can utilize Primary and Addon Card in Amazon/Flipkart Sales each time. They will be treated as separate cards and you can avail of benefits twice.

The same goes for all card benefits too. If RBL is providing a cc for the addon cardholder, the addon cardholder would definitely be entitled to all the benefits as a primary cardholder, including 10% Cashback on their birthday.

So, for each Zomato Edition CC, you can maximize up to 6 days per year (1 primary, 5 addon cards, unless there are twins in your family) where you will get 10% cashback. What more do we need from a Lifetime Free CC?

Guys, I contacted Edition 2-3 days back on Twitter and they informed me that the invite would reach to me in 24-48 hours. It has been more than 48 hours and I can't seem to find anything within my Zomato app. Is this normal or shall I reach out to Edition again.

Add-on Card, by definition, gets all benefits as a primary card.

well, technically, its the addon cardmember (to whom the addon card is issued with their documents), who enjoys the benefits.

primary cardholder enjoys primary card benefits.
addon cardholder enjoys addon card benefits.
simple equation.

if primary card offers 10% cb on birthdays. addon card should also offer 10% cb on birthday. no rocket science. if they do not offer that, then it can be challenged. I want to test it, but my addon cardholder's birthday is in January. my birthday is in February. so I cannot test it right now.
