I am regular contributor for NPS and contribute 75000Rs per annum / Monthly 6250Rs to Tier 1. I wanted to shift that expense to Credit Card for rewards purpose and i got many inputs in this forum. So, addition to that i am sharing my way of paying monthly contribution via Credit Card along with screenshots. Do comment if you want to add your views!
Common Service Center (CSC) is POP under NPS and they are allowed to charge 0.50% + GST for NPS contributions. For those who dont know about CSC - its an privately operated center for all central & state government schemes, you will find it in your local area on walking distance. Use https://locator.csccloud.in/ this link to locate nearby center.
1. Request CSC center owner to use your credit card to add money to CSC Wallet. (PRIVACY RED FLAG)
*There is no charge to add money to CSC wallet using CC.
2. Make payment to NPS Tier 1 & Tier 2 as per your requirement.
3. Total Charges are 0.50% + GST.
For 6250Rs amount charges are 37Rs. Out of which 23.75Rs is profit of CSC Center and 13.25Rs goes to CSC Charges.
Note:
1. This is unusual way, involving privacy risk too.
2. I do this because i have my family member CSC login with me. I do not share my CC details to anyone.
3. CSC Centers have target to do NPS Transactions and my transaction benefit in that target, hence i need pay only 13.25Rs charges for 6250Rs amount i.e. 0.22% for this.
