Nope.

But maybe you can ask them to upgrade to savings everyday account (I believe but chances is less).

In everyday, day 30 transactions per month & no MAB charges will be levied.

Call kotak customer care and ask to convert your existing account variant to solo savings variant which is zero balance account. They do it over the call itself.

I asked yesterday and they said it is only possible by visiting nearby branch.

It's easy I visited my nearest branch and they did the rest of the process with pan card and aadhar

Apparently not. I went to the branch today and they told me that the system wasn't allowing to create a new account since I've submitted PAN card.

The only way was to close 811 and wait for 30 days. New accounts can only be open afterwards.

Customer care didn't mention any of this even though I asked them multiple times.

By the way, the title of this thread made me think that just like how the banks are downgrade the rewards in the credit card, kotak have downgraded the Kotak 811 account and added some charges.

No Kotak have one saving account, one credit policy.

I have 2 savings account and 3 Credit cards from Kotak.

I had 811 Ac, Enquired about a full fledged savings account and agent called saying he will have to close 811 and will open new savings ac. I went to a different branch, there a lady told me, account would be opened offline pen paper form, and the 811 would be closed automatically. I opened new acc. 811 is still active. After that, the first agent called again and said - "ek aur THREE IN ONE account khulwa lo".
