HDFC ACCOUNT INFORMATION LEAKED

My HDFC Credit account and savings account details (loan & balance) were shared with a relative without my knowledge. I haven’t visited any branch in 3 months, so clearly, someone from the bank leaked my info.


How do I escalate this? Has anyone filed a complaint with RBI or the Banking Ombudsman before? Need urgent advice.

Provide better insights in the matter. What kind of relative (friend or enemies) got info. about your financial details and what they can do with it?

How do you know it's gotten from bank? Maybe some physical statements were taken image of from your home itself. or someone got it from yuor phone itself who you trust. Koi ghar ka bhedi bhi toh ho sakta hai jo aapki lanka laga raha ho?

Complaint to PNO asking for CBS logs. The system has log entry for every query, the employee has done to fetch ur account info.

He did enquire about my balance and from where i get payments from n all

Problem is even bank people won't accept that they have given info. Data can be accessed at any branch and people have connections. You will never know which branch accessed your data until you reach the higher authorities to see at what time and in what branch your acc. details were checked and with whose code.

For that you will need to escalate at higher level but branch people when they know removes most of the info. and even higher authorities won't care until you make a police complaint which will bring hassles only to your life not the culprit here.

The matter is serious in nature when someone is trying to get your financial details.

Problem is even bank people won't accept that they have given info. Data can be accessed at any branch and people have connections. Maybe unrelated to this case but I've heard HDFC is notorious and does contact relatives or friends regarding any overdues.

Nothing will happen...Do not panic, Chill and move on in life....My info was leaked by kotak mahindra bank employee to one of my relative with whom i had financial dispute....Same info was produced in court also....However, despite so many complaints, nothing happened.

Simply close your relationship with bank and move on in life.

If you have clout with the mananger or employee, you can get the details like balance, loans etc orally if they have confidence on you. Bank accounts are open book and I have seen a low level employee checking all savings account balances in one of the private banks. As one of the member pointed out, the same will get logged in always.

In most banks, freshers emp. ID are used by other senior staff whenever they require details of people they are concerned about. India is a joke to privacy and here people think it's their right to use other people credentials to access details of others.

Whenever a new female staff joins and they have less experience of technical knowhows they are easy target for those employees having malafide intentions. Same happens in IT companies.

When I joined TCS in early days, a senior engineer their tried to access my account but on Day 1 itself I changed my password and asked him why he needs it. Whenever I logged in I hide keyboard with paper so that even in cameras they won't be anle to see it. Checked whole system to see if any key logging or password logging files are there. There wasn't. Actually It's none of his business to have my credentials for their own malafide intentions.

Same happened in INFY but I never let people get control over me. Lived like a lion and kept people in their place no matter how much they threatened me and others. You should always know the rules and threaten them back with that.

Being a senior I never tried to use my junior team. Instead made them feel good and grow/develop in life. But kuch log mc hotey hai aur unka ilaaz karna padta hai chahe aapko job ko laat maarni pade.

Stay one step ahead of what others are thinking or can do.

I was working at one of the big private sector bank branches in New Delhi. A new joinee but I knew things. This was 2008-09.

Some client approached the branch manager for a payment from an account that had some notes for a debit freeze by the police. The branch manager asked me to process it and I refused it. I asked him to mail me with instructions and I'll do the needful. It never happened. The reporting staff were thankful too.

I have learnt one thing when it comes to work - save your ass.

This makes me to appreciate Chanakya 's neeti, where he says an adhikari (supervisor) must be held accountable for a junior's mistake.

I have received calls from Lotak people for some loan that was unpaid by some family living in our society! - ( I have NO relation with that family )

not just me, quite a few people (including their neighbors) received the call.
