Horrible experience with Kotak Indian Oil Card

Kotak has one of the worst customer support. I got my card around 15th Feb and did a transaction of 320/- on my IOCL card on 16th Feb at the IOCL pump. The transaction took five days to show under settled transactions. After that, I checked the reward points section and found no reward points had been credited. I contacted customer care, and first, they told me that since it is a minimal transaction(what do they expect fuel transaction to be ???), it might be a miss from their end, and they will check with the internal team and come back. The bill was generated on 25th Feb, and still, no reward points are showing up. On again reaching to them, they have the same response that they are figuring out why it didn't get credited. I did not get the accelerated reward points nor the fuel surcharge of 1%.

I am thinking of closing the card now. This sort of customer support is horrible for end consumers.

I dont think there is a specific POS machine criteria, also I havent paid that much attention towards it, though I remember swipping on Paytm and HDFC bank POS machines.
 
Biggest problem with Fuel cards is this. Not getting Reward points. I have been using SBI BPCL Rupay since july last year and till date i have not received single reward points automatically. Every time I have to mail them to get the reward points. But atleast in my case they are providing reward points after mail without delay.
Do you face this issue again and again on same POS machines of same pumps? or do they fix that particular pos machine after your complain and rp gets credited automatically next time?

Kotak support is good. The issue is the nuances you have to go through to actually get them, Try raising a query in the app. If you get hold of them, they regularly followup and update until the issue is closed. Much much better than others where we have to follow up.

After raising card cancellation request, someone from the credit retention team called me and offered a LTF upgrade to Zen Signature Card. This proved my notion wrong about the customer support.

Even I had Zen signature credit card, as per the product feature need to receive 10 zen points for every 150 spent on departmental stores, but got the normal base reward points only, transaction happened on October 3 2022, still now fighting with them to get those reward points 1.25L worth of transaction, not a toll free number for every call 60 to 100 rupees will gone, sent almost 15 to 20 mails till now, will get a reply that the query had been forwarded to the concern department apart from the message no progress at all.

Use a jio number. That one doesn't cost anything for even paid customer care numbers.

no for me they are asking for bill with bpcl written on it. which bill has bpcl written on it?

Usually the slip they give you at petrol pump mentions it.
no the slip mentions modern petro mart but not bpcl on it. and moreover they haven't given me fuel surcharge waiver on it. I have to raise request everytime I pay on a BPCL pump to get rewards and surcharge waiver. tested 10s on pumps. not happy with this card.

I recently got the card, got the welcome benefit of 1000 points, but after that its been more than a week and haven't got points for 2 transaction done at an IOCL pump, one using an SBI POS machine and other one via PhonePe and using Kotak Rupay UPI. The PhonePe one says IOCL Petrol Pump. Any idea if it takes more time to get the rewards or I need to always reach to customer care, the customer care seems dumb. I asked about IOCL card and they replied with features of 811 credit card, so not relying on them too much.

Yes the problem of reward points still exists. Mail to nodal and followup the issue.
