Why closed salary account? I have hsbc premier based on salary but they say salary alone is not sufficient I've to maintain TRV also

That's bad. Did they change any policy now? If your net salary is more than 3L, you don't need to maintain anything else. They will give you premier salary account and premier credit card. Am I missing something?

Yes, I didn’t have instant approval. I had to send out an email to them for status and the next day approval email was sent to me.
