Greetings TFCian,

I am delighted to inform you that the TF Community Group system is now active and ready for use. With this new system, you have the ability to create and manage your own groups, as well as organize events such as meet-ups and spaces.

This group system is user-friendly, making it easy for all members of the TF Community to participate. The access to create, operate and contribute in such groups is linked to your TechnoFino Community Status Level.

To access the group page, simply click on the "Groups" option located in the top menu.

What You Can Do?

• Ability to create unlimited groups. (Depending on your membership tier)
• The group owner can assign roles to their members (like a moderator, admin, etc.)
• Each group has the ability to create its own events.
• Avatar supported. Each group has the ability to easily upload their avatar
• Cover photos supported. Each group has the ability to easily upload their cover
• Display statistics for each group.
• Much more...

Group Privacy: Public, Closed and Secret. Each privacy option has its own settings.

• Public Group:
  • Anyone can see the group
  • Anyone can see the contents of the group
  • Shown in the group list
• Closed Group:
  • Anyone can see the group
  • Only members can see the contents of the group
  • Shown in the group list
• Secret Group:
  • Only members and authorized users (set in User Group Permissions) can see the group and its content
  • Only authorized users (set in User Group Permissions) can create Secret Groups

Group Invitations:

• Send an invitation: Only Public and Closed Groups are supported. For each invitation sent, the user will be received a notification. Users can easily manage the invitations they received from the Invited Groups page.
• Add users to group: Only Secret Groups are supported. This feature allows authorized members to add a user to the group without their permission.

Notification System:

• Notification Alerts can be turned on/off. Each member has the ability to choose either Forum Alerts or Email. You can find this feature in group navigation.

While TF Neo and TF Buzz members can join groups created by others, they are not permitted to create their own groups. TF Select members have the ability to create public groups, while TF Premier members can create both public and closed groups (with non-members unable to view content in closed groups). For those with TF ACE or higher membership, secret groups can also be created (with non-members unable to even see the existence of these groups).

Maybe make Discussion as default view instead of News Feed Or Access to the Feed for only Mods/Admins of Group so that it can serve more like an Announcement, otherwise it will become a chit-chat mess

Someone invited you it seems.
there was few bugs also, but all resolved now.

No we are getting notifications when someone is requesting to join a group. I am already part of that group but only a member. Will let you know with a screenshot if it comes again.

Yes, it is there on the side menu after clicking hamburger menu icon. I just asked whether the icon can be in main layout like notification, message and new posts 👍

Why the posts of secret group is indexed by Google? I understand it is accessible only by group members but indexing also should not be there. I got the notification of my own secret group via Google app.
