Surprise surprise....Reserv being offered FYF!!

Today, I wanted to see whether I would be eligible for a Marque CC and hence I started applying for Yes Bank CC in its portal. Surprisingly, it showed me reserv CC as a FYF! I have heard that Yes Bank doesn't entertain FYF or LTF much these days. Hence, I proceeded to apply for the same. TF community members can also try their luck to see if they are getting any FYF or LTF Yes bank CCs.

Hi everyone,

I recently applied for the YES Bank Reserv Credit Card after seeing an offer on the application page where the joining fee of ₹2,499 + GST was shown as crossed out, and below it, it mentioned ₹0 joining fee. However, right under that, there was a note stating:
"Spend ₹40,000 in first 30 days & waive off joining fees."

This has left me confused—
Is this card actually First Year Free (FYF) by default, or is the fee waiver conditional upon spending ₹40,000 in the first 30 days?

Also, I’ve already completed the application process. So I have a few questions:
  1. Does YES Bank add the joining fee to the card before it is activated, like Axis Bank sometimes does, or is the fee only posted after activation?
  2. If I misunderstood and the card is not FYF, is there any chance YES Bank might convert it to FYF or even LTF on request or due to miscommunication?
  3. If the joining fee gets charged before activation, and I choose not to activate the card, will I still be liable to pay the fee, and can this impact my credit score?
Would really appreciate insights from anyone who has received the same FYF/waiver offer recently or has dealt with YES Bank in a similar situation.
Thanks in advance!

It clearly said there would be no joining fee after spending 40k in 30 days . It is not FYF , it is conditional FYF.. there is no miscommunication here..

Thanks for your response, Just to share a quick update—I received a call today from YES Bank regarding my application, and I took the opportunity to ask them directly about the joining fee. The representative asked for my application number, and then confirmed that my card is indeed First Year Free (FYF).

I asked if they could send me an email confirming this, but he mentioned that the welcome letter I’ll receive with the card will clearly state that the card is FYF. He assured me I don't need to worry about the ₹40,000 spend condition in my case.

I’ll wait for the card to arrive and will update here once I receive it.
