Hey everyone,

I recently flipped from the AU Bank LIT Credit Card to the AU Bank ixigo Credit Card (Visa Variant) and wanted to share my experience. This post should help anyone considering a similar upgrade or looking for detailed information on the process, timelines, and important considerations.

Why I Switched
The LIT Card was decent, but I wanted the ixigo card for its travel benefits and Zero Forex Charges.
I specifically opted for the Visa variant (not RuPay) due to its wider acceptance. I may soon cancel my RBL World Safari Card.

Step-by-Step Process
1. Initiating the Upgrade Request

Action: I called AU Bank customer care to confirm whether an upgrade/flip was possible.
Outcome: Advised to send a formal email request with necessary details and consent.

Key Details Provided in Email:
Cardholder Name:
Registered Email:
Mobile Number:
Existing Card: AU LIT Credit Card (ending with **1234)
Attachment: Screenshot of my ixigo account profile (as requested).

2. Bank’s Response & Charges
Bank’s Reply:
Upgrade is subject to approval.
Upgrade fee: ₹199 + GST
I was asked to reply with explicit consent for the charges.
Reference Number Generated

3. Confirming Consent
Action: Replied confirming my agreement to the charges and reiterated my request for the Visa variant.
Details Restated: All the reference numbers.

4. Processing & Timelines
Outcome: Received an acknowledgement email that my request was forwarded to the relevant department.
New Reference Number generated
Expected Resolution Time: 5 working days.

5. Final Confirmation
Outcome: Received a final email confirming that the upgrade request was initiated and would be processed within 5 working days.
New Reference Number generated

6. Card Dispatch
Outcome: Received SMS/email that my new ixigo AU Bank Credit Card was dispatched via Bluedart.

7. Total Time Taken
10 days from the first email to receiving the dispatch message.

Tips & Things to Note
1. Specify Card Variant: Always request the variant you want (Visa/RuPay) in writing.
2. Upgrade Fee: Upgrade is NOT free – ₹199 + GST is charged.
3. Reference Numbers: Keep track of reference numbers for all communication.
4. Documents: Attach any requested documents (e.g., screenshot of ixigo profile).
5. Follow-Up: Response time is reasonable, but follow up if you don’t hear back in 5 working days.

Additional Details
1. Card Number: When choosing the Visa variant, your card number remains the same as your previous card.
2. Change Frequency: As per the customer service representative, you can change your card only once a year before the annual fees are charged (if the card is a paid card). If your card was recently charged for an annual fee and you want to change it, you will have to pay the joining fee for the new card along with the upgrade fee of ₹199 + GST.

Conclusion
The process was smooth with clear communication from AU Bank. If you're planning a similar upgrade or flip, follow the steps above and ensure you keep track of all reference numbers and documents.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions or need further clarification!

Great Info, it will be helpful to a lot of people. I love the AU Ixigo Kit presentation. I also have the Visa variant.

You made a big mistake
AU Lit is one of the top 12 best cards in India, while AU Ixigo LTF is inferior to Federal Scapia LTFView attachment 99091
My Yearly forex spends are around 6.3L-7.8L. What will I do with AU LIT when Ixigo has a Zero Forex Fee? Till now,I am using RBL World Safari card for Zero Forex, but now I feel, if I can use AU Ixigo for the same purpose, then why pay 3.5k with GST as fees? Though using RBL World Safari I saved approximately 27.5k on forex charges. Thats approximately an ROI of 7.6x.

I get it, but I don't need it. Plus, my wife already has it. She got it before the fiasco last year, when suddenly her limit was decreased from 8.5L to 40K within 25 days of card issuance. They gave the reason that no spending pattern was detected. The limit remains the same, so I have trust issues. Also, just because of my NRI status, I can't apply for any further cards. This was a flip/upgrade so it worked.

So no further verification?
Also is there any time frame after which upgrade request can be made?
Like min 6 months after the card issuance etc.
Also is your Lit card blocked now?
Bcz some banks allows to use both the cards

1. No Further Verification.
2. Yes, mentioned above. you can switch cards immediately. But there is a cooling-off period of 1 year between the 1st Request and the 2nd Request.
3. LIT Card is now replaced by AU ixigo. The app shows only one card.
4. AU Bank allows only one card at a time.

This card is a flip/swap/upgrade/replacement from the AU LIT card
