How to know bank locker is vacant or all full ?

If you go to any bank be it a psu or private bank . if they sense you are not going to give them business like ULIP or large FD or life insurance , they will simply say NO LOCKER AVAILABLE SIR .

I enquired about 10-15 banks in locality . if I ask them my waiting list number , they will say “ there is no such thing sir” .

since they are showing no locker availability we can not complain to higher officer or RBI .

my query is how can we know actual number of vacant lockers in a bank . they are not bound to disclose it though .

Yes I have imperia account with HDFC since 10 year but it’s a different city . One nearest branch verbally asked me to start a ULIP so that we will get approval from HDFC to allocate you a locker . Or a 50L FD minimum .

So I decided to go through imperia banking contact team route with another HDFC branch. seeing the enquiry coming from imperia banking . The operational head call me and did not directly mention about plans and all , he simply say no locker available at this moment but refused to confirm it over email . At the end of call he say come to branch someday we will see how can you get one quickly .

That. Means he is also indirectly asking me for a ULIP or Insurance products .

Out of 15 , do you have any account with them?

Also I have tried SBI which is my home branch . The lady manger only interested what can you buy from me . Health insurance or start a SBI life Plan atleast .1 lakh per annum premium

Seems they got to know, they can get Good business from you, hence getting greedy.
If you can be little strict, HDFC will do the Job, without moving anywhere.
