Help with HDFC credit card points-accumulated vs redeemable

Hi- i recently got the HDFC Biz black card and my statement was generated on 5th June and 7500 reward points (earned on spending in May 2025) were credited on 6th June. My card statement now shows available points as approx 11000 and redeemable points as exactly 7500 less. Is it usual for HDFC to defer rewards points like this?

I guess you could redeem only the once which are credited (on bill generation), rest you might have gained in current billing cycle and hence cant redeem till bill is generated.

Yes.
All the Reward Points (RPs) accrued during the statement cycle less those redeemed are reflected in the statement cycle's bill and these are then available for redemption.

All the RPs earned during the current statement cycle, will be reflected in the next statement. Then these can be redeemed after the statement has been generated.

e.g.
In statement cycle 1,
RPs accrued - say 100.
RPs reflected - 100.
RPs that can be redeemed now after the statement cycle 1 bill is generated - 100. However, assume RPs redeemed - nil.

In statement cycle 2
RPs accrued 150
Total RPs reflected in this statement - 100 (earlier) - 0 (RPs redeemed) + 150 (RPs earned now) = 250
Total RPs that can be redeemed now (after statement cycle 2 bill is generated) - 250.

And so on.

Hope this helps. 🙂
