Diners club black seems the best from outside

I’m an entry level user, when checked every super premium card benefits out there it felt Hdfc diners black card is the best. Most attractive feature for me is, Membership benefits especially prime & Swiggy. Also reasonable Fee ₹10K compared to ₹50K cards with less benefits. 5x rewards unlimited lounge access & golf access etc

Actually with Rupay integration its not that bad, at least in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.

As mentioned by @xywowowvw You'll face heavy acceptance issues. Also you can't use the card for Subscriptions/SI. So your spending options would be severely restricted.

Acceptance is a big issue with this card. It is only useful for hdfc products like Smartbuy, payzapp and Billpay.

Most of the other places it is either not accepted or have extra charges, which makes it unusable, online, offline, domestic, international, literally everything.

After activation of Global value program, I had to struggle a lot even to get the welcome 500 points for first international transaction 😅.

It is only good, if u r getting LTF. Otherwise, Infinia is far better for extra 2500+gst (and 12500 points), unless of course, ur income is not enough to get Infinia.

BTW, Recently hdfc has started adding more partners on Smartbuy. Latest addition is jockey with 10x points, about 26-28% net return for DCB/Infinia. Seems pretty good.

Anyone tried it? I tried one purchase, but I was getting just page industries (no Smartbuy) on OTP, so wasn't sure if it is getting tracked properly.

Infinia is 5x with 15k limit.

5x is effectively 12-14% only. That's nothing for people who enjoyed Axis grab deals offers😂.

It's a pretty solid card and it's my primary card. I only faced issue while swiping outside India, otherwise I have swiped it even in remote places in tier 3 cities. If rupay card works, diners works too, except if the pos machine is antique with b/w dot.matrix display.

In POS, I am yet to have my card not accepted.
In online, some payment processors don't support it.
So I don't think it's as bad as people are saying it. May be you guys used it way before me and faced issues, and may be that has since improved.

I have this card and faced issues twice in online rather offline. Offline tried swiping tier 2 cities for 2x weekend dining, worked flawlessly. For online, faced issues with Freshtohome, singapore airlines etc.
