Amex Platinum Charge retention offer

I’ve been offered the vouchers plus 25k MR points. Implication is that this is the best they can do post the first year of Plat. My spends are very high - planning to continue.

Does anyone have a better retention offer they’ve received?

Just cancel the card and reapply when they’re running offers. That’s the way you can get the best offers.

Even without the seasonal offers, just using someone’s referral or even direct applying can get you 1.4k-1.5k points, much more than even the best of retention offers.

One concern is that they’re not issuing new cards. And the delta between paying for reserve and then waiting for an offer for the new one (post new card issuance starting) seems not worth the effort imo.

You don’t need Reserve. You get similar offers on all their cards right down to the humble Smart Earn card. Yes people on Technofino itself have got upgrade offers from Smart Earn to Plat Charge. Even the base offer without an upgrade offer is much better than the standard retention offers.

As for new issuance stopped, there’d no workaround for that sadly

With that level of spend just keep the card. No point in nickel and diming retention offers or comparing with others. You most likely value the card for other benefits and not just rewards and returns.
tbh, the rewards are also fab. amex multiplier is unbeatable if you're flying Air India a lot. have confirmed the retention - and happy to not get into the hassle of trying to optimize this. thanks for your input
