Cibil defaults wipe off?

When is this settlement likely to be erased from cibil? Or such defaults stay forever?

Thanks so much for the info. Did they correct the DPD too ?

Is it true that apparently HDFC never issues you a card again if you have previously defaulted on a HDFC CC or if your card has gone into collections with them, even if you pay the entire dues off ? HDFC apparently will just keep your card account in suspended / inactive for use status & never issue you a card again even after receiving the full payment on the defaulted card citing "irregular payments on previous card" ? Did HDFC issue you a card again after you paid the total amount ?

Any information in regards to this will be helpful. Thank you bro
I had settled in 2009 so DPD not visible. Initially HDFC declined the card but i wrote a mail to PNO stating the facts and my current financial details and relationship details with HDFC, what helped was i had salary account with them from 2012. My card got approved. They recently increased the limit to 4L as well

How to distinguish between hard and soft enquiry like I applied for card, got a enquiry mail from cibil, your status has changed after 10-15 minutes, that a soft or hard? The enquiries shown in reports of app like gpay, one score are they hard or soft?
Whenever you get that email / message, that is is a hard enquiry.

Whenever you apply for a credit product including loans, CC, limit enhancements etc the banks will check your credit report, that's what is called a hard enquiry. Simply put enquiries that shows up on your your credit reports including Transunion, Experian etc are hard enquiries which are done during applying for any credit product.

Soft enquiries do not show up & cannot be seen as an enquiry in your credit report. In India most soft enquiries basically means banks or credit brokers like Paisabazaar, bankbazaar etc having access to your monthly credit reports (with your consent) so that their algo can check which credit products you might be eligible for !

Remember every time you subscribe to access your credit report for free or paid via any third party app or website that is a soft enquiry !

Same happened with me ! I paid the Total amount in 2015, but they are declining all of my new applications stating that even though they received the "Full Payment" but since the card went to collections they will NOT approve any new card application as per policy ! I do not have any other relationship with HDFC currently !

I paid the HDFC the Full amount due & in Cibil the card is reported as closed but they reporting "0" DPD's till now !

Will writing to PNO or RBI ombudsman help ? or Should I open a HDFC savings a/c with PREFERRED / IMPERIA relationship first & then try again after 1 year or so ? Also, can you give me the PNO email address ?

I am not sure if preferred or imperia account would help. They mostly look at loans, FD With them. I had a PL, FD and consumer loan. I showed the repayment history with no default.
0 in DPD is a good thing, means no late payments.
The email id i wrote to was PriorityRedressal.CreditCards@hdfcbank.com
Like @cardex mentioned HDFC cards are not that great except for a couple of cards -Tata Neu, DCB & Infinia and may be Millenia

7th year from the settlement date, for sure. Yes, both are not as popular in India when compared to Transunion-CIBIL, however now a days more & more lenders are checking Experian too i.e HDFC, AXIS, YES, ABFL, RBL to name a few !

Few banks check historic data too & will never issue you a card / loan if your DPD for any CC or loan shows a DPD of "90" or more irrespective of your "current" score & payment history ..
Even AU checks experian

start a salary/current account, only that can get you a card.

Even AU checks experian
May be they started recently. When I had applied, I remember the only enquiry was in Cibil but AU was not serviceable in my pin code back then. Since then I have not managed to proceed beyond a certain page & keeps giving the error "Could not process application due to technical glitch"

They won't issue a card without verification, don't apply
I'm sure AU waives physical verification if the card is pre approved based on savings a/c relationship. Though i'm not sure if pre approved offer comes on their 0 balance digital savings a/c or not.

I have a current a/c with AU with a turn over of more than 2cr annually but still NO CC offer for me. Spoke to RM & was asked to open a savings a/c relationship or apply C2C !

I miss out on paying 46 paisa for my HDFC jumbo loan..Will they report it on cibil?
They ideally should not though you should write and also talk to their phone banker immediately. But in past it has been seen in some incidences that they have reported it. That's why I tend to round up to the higher payable rupee.

Default marking remains for forever. After 7 years, if your other CC records are good and cibil score is above 750, some bank may give you new cc. keep your finger crossed.
