1. MAJOR CHANGE: Fee structure SLASHED! Joining: ₹40K → ₹10K, Renewal: ₹10K → ₹5K

• Qatar variant: Now 20K welcome Avios (was 20K Avios + Gold tier)
Now 5K renewal Avios (was 5K + Gold tier with ₹3L Qatar spend)
• BA variant: Now 20K welcome Avios (was 55K Avios)
Now 5K renewal Avios (was 10K Avios)

2. The earning structure remains similar:
• 6 Avios per ₹200 at selected destinations (POS)
• 5 Avios per ₹200 on Qatar/BA websites
• 3 Avios per ₹200 on most other spends
• 1 Avios per ₹200 on utilities, education & govt payments

3. Who wins? Anyone who couldn't justify the previous ₹40K fee. The new card offers better cost-to-benefit ratio for most users, though frequent Qatar flyers might miss the automatic Gold tier benefit. BA cardholders get fewer welcome Avios but a much lower fee. 🔥

4. Doing the math: The effective reward rate can reach up to 3.75% on regular spends (including milestones).

For NTB - Card to card limit should be 2+
Salary should be 80k-90k+
Self business ITR 12 lakhs+

For existing user wants to upgrade - Indusind limit should be 1.50 lakhs+

Yes you can upgrade without any issue. There is only one difference between the two programs. If you opt for Qatar privilege club, you will get 10% discount on flight bookings done on qatar website and app (flight origin should be India) by using the code "IDSCB23".

Which is better? Qatar or BA?

British Airways:
- Has direct flights for UK and offers LHR as a layover point which has great connectivity to almost every part of the world.
- Polished, sophisticated and great service irrespective of the cabin class. Nothing extraordinary to write about though.
- Has premium economy cabins.

Qatar:
- Offers Doha as layover and has ample connections from there.
- Famous for it's luxurious business class but doesn't offer premium economy cabin.
- Economy seats have slightly more legroom as compared to the competition.
- Great overall service irrespective of the cabin class.

Avios:
- Connect your BA and Qatar accounts and you can move points between them instantly.
- Both have high taxes and other fee. Qatar however, offers the "Avios Max" option to pay for everything with points.
- As far as better value per point is concerned, I will go with BA.
