Incorrect cashback received on Axis Flipkart Credit Card for a Hotel Booking Transaction on Cleartrip

I received only 1% cashback for a hotel booking transaction on Cleartrip using Axis Flipkart Credit Card. In the statement, the transaction has been reported incorrectly as a Travel transaction, whereas I booked a hotel. While paying, it was showing 5% cashback on Axis Flipkart CC, but after the bill generation, only 1% was received. A few days back, I booked another hotel and correctly received 5% cashback. I am attaching the statement screenshot for reference, where the problem is in the last hotel booking transaction of Rs 77,485

Has anyone faced a similar problem? How difficult is it to get it corrected by reporting it to Axis?

Is there any easy way to get this corrected or Cleartrip and Axis will play Table Tennis? 🙂
First, figure out the current mcc, then email Cleartrip to fix the mcc, so that your future transactions are categorized correctly.

Axis won't do anything in this matter, and you won’t receive any rewards for the current transaction.
 
It was me. Didn't get any cashback for my recent flight booking via cleartrip. After checking with customer care they told me that it comes under railway booking and MCC code is 4112 so no cashback 🥲
Sorry to hear that man, these sudden changes by backend sucks. People have no idea, if they will get the cashback or not.

These days, website should show mcc at the payment gateway, it is very important and RBI is sleeping on this demand.
