Regalia Gold Should I request a limit enhancement or an upgrade?

Hi team,

I have a Regalia Gold card, received last June/July. The card limit is only 2 lakhs, but I have spent more than 8 lakhs in the last 9 months. Would it make sense to ask for a limit enhancement to the customer care, or would it be better to ask for an upgrade?
  1. Although my salary meets the criteria for Regalia Gold, it does not meet the criteria for DCB/ Infinia.
  2. I have ICICI/AMEX/Axis with 7 lakhs limit each.
  3. Never got a limit enhancement offer from HDFC.
  4. Never got an upgrade offer.
  5. The existing Regalia Gold card was received after applying online via the HDFC website. It was rejected initially, but a mail to customer care asking for the reason for rejection resulted in them giving this card.

You can ask for limit increase, base limit of dcbm is 5 lakhs

Try to increase limit and reach 5 L, then after few months you can request for DCB Metal.
 
I asked for a credit limit via mail and they told me to courier to their office in Chennai along with payslips.

Doesn't make sense to do all this. Would rather wait for the automatic limit increase rather.

Yes don't waste time with that. If they want, they can take LE request through email too on basis of income documents.

You have to ask them to take request through email only and attach income documents.

If you don't wish to provide documents, then wait for auto LE.

i send the docs on email and inform to consider them for LE they said online docs for LE not accepted have to send the physical docs to Chennai

to which email id are you escalating? grievance.redressalcc@hdfcbank.com should work. They are accepting salary slips via email. Don't know if there are any changes recently.

yep, back in dec when i tried for infinia upgrade, i was asked to submit the docs to chennai office but when i asked for email, they said ok but they denied infinia/le. it was the grievance one. But this time i sent a normal email to their customercards email and i received response from INFINIA.SERVICES@hdfcbank.com and they didn't agree for email.
 
Weird bank really, sometimes they pull stuff that's applaudable, then there's times like these lol.
The saddest part is that my RM is totally clueless wert these scenarios. Whenever I ask her about these, she will be like "is this option showing up in your app, if not then you are not eligible?". If I could do it from the app then why should I reach out to RM in first place. I think a lot of people will relate to this as HDFC RMs have been useless of late.

All knew already they are useless, I had requested preferred banking to remove my RM and my account was downgraded to standard.

Its been three years, No calls and still got dcbm without even going to branch.

My RM just calls me to invest in some schemes, whenever I ask him for card upgrade in return, he gives me a guy's number who never picks up calls.
