Yesbank credit card network change from mastercard to visa

Helo,
i am currently holding yesbank ace mastercard credit card and want to convert it to rupay variant, i have seen in news that now you can ask bank which network do you want on your card. They are reaplying me as below
should i email nodal officer team and then rbi or not,

Usually, the issuer gives the option to change from one platform to another ONLY at the time of RENEWAL.

Do not waste your time.

Or, apply for another card.

yesbank doesn't allow more than one card, and if i close current card, i can only apply after 6 months

There are over 2 dozen banks n issuers of various cards. Why limit to only Yes ?
