Upgrading Magnus 5:2 to 5:4 ?

I have had an Axis Bank Magnus credit card - 5:2 for a few years, and also a Axis Bank Burgundy account for a year or so.
I did not use or maintain any balance in the Burgundy account.
On 30th March 2025, I transferred 10 lakhs to the savings account there as I read somewhere that now the criteria to get 5:4 magnus is 10 lakhs AMB.
My one glance statement was generated on 2nd May 2025 which showed AMB of over 10 lakhs for month of April
I called Axis bank customer care and asked for an upgrade to Magnus 5:4 and they said I am not eligible and that I should maintain the balance for 3 months.

Does anyone have any recent experience or advise on this?

With 10L in SA, Axis would need 3 OGS, as the criteria they look for is 30L TRV.
So, if you want it sooner, then you need to deposit enough money in the SA that would reflect 30L TRV within a month or so. That's why some folks open the Burgundy account with initial funding of 30L itself or deposit 30L+ to get the 30L TRV status to be able to apply for M4B.

Also, are you trying for paid or LTF? Paid one should be achievable via above means.

which stated that 10 lakhs AMB is the criteria. I spoke to a Axis credit card agent and he said to call after 15 days around May 20th to check.

I have managed to upgrade my Axis Magnus to Magnus for Burgundy. I had my second OGS today with 10 lakhs AMB, and I called them and they said I am eligible and sent me a link there and then which I accepted. The fees was showing at 30k which I am okay paying if I have to, but I think it will get waived as I have already spent more than 30L on my normal Axis Magnus.
An updated question - I can see the new Magnus on the Axis App. By when would the 5:2 convert to 5:4 on the travel edge portal? Any help would be appreciated

Will be helpful to understand your spend/reward strategy! Even after cancelling my m4b, my love for the card persists and if you can help me with a good calculation, I can jump the bandwagon again 🙂

Its a no brainer as I have over 6 lakh points. changing from 5:2 to 5:4 is significant value and I am okay paying 30k for it.
Having 10L in a savings account is also fine for this benefit as far as I am concerned.

Its axis, i would highly advice not to hold that much points with them. Genuine spends or not, they will find a away to screw up those points...

All legit spends. just need 3-4 months of heavy spends with the accelerated rewards to achieve it
