Continuing my thread as I Got a disappointing reply from HDFC after initial response that i am eligible. I guess income criteria still doesn’t guarantee the infinia upgrade.. Any further suggestions? My cibil is 798 right now.

Here is the exact response:-

We wish to inform that card upgrade offers are periodic which will be determined based on Bank's internal credit policy (which is based on a combination of financial and related criteria and/or statistically determined scores to assess credit eligibility) and operating/credit processes ( which include a combination of verifications, credit bureau reports and document verifications) in addition to parameters such as card usage, re-payments etc.

We reviewed your request of card upgrade to Infinia card in line with parameters explained above , however, we regret to accede to your request at this point in time as it did not meet the necessary parameters set at the bank. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you in this regard.

Please be assured that bank will continue to evaluate the card profiles periodically and if your card account is found eligible for card upgrade offer in near future, we shall intimate you appropriately. We seek your earnest understanding in this regard.

As per open sources (inter alia, here and here) ....
Salaried individuals in the private sector - should have a monthly income of ₹5 lakh to get the Infinia card.

Self-employed persons should have an ITR (Income Tax Return) of ₹60 lakh to get the card.

Government employees must have a monthly income of ₹3.5 lakh to qualify for the card.
