I mean too say here that u used the Paytm Wallet balance to pay to the petrol pump which is acceptable only on Paytm Merchant QR codes
It did not use the new Paytm Wallet UPI feature, & if that would have been the case then u might have seen ur Wallet UPI Id somewhere near Paytm Balance (just like Amz Wallet UPI)

In case of Amazonpay, there are two distict UPI ID, one for wallet bal another for linked bank. Is paytm doing this with a single UPI ID?

Personally, prefer Paytm since the app is fast+option to use Wallet also on Paytm QR codes.

Expecting the rotation of CC money using this trick to become even more if Paytm doesn't close this loophole anytime soon. I don't think Paytm wants to get into more troubled waters when it is already having a tough time dealing with RBI.
