Need Guidance: HDFC Pre-Approved Credit Card Offer Employment Confusion

Hi everyone,

I recently got a pre-approved credit card offer from HDFC Bank. I had the option to choose between Freedom, Moneyback, and Swiggy cards. I went with the Freedom card because they are currently offering a ₹3200 Amazon voucher as a temporary welcome benefit.

However, while applying online, the form is asking for employment details and address. The problem is – I am currently unemployed. There’s an option to select 'Self-Employed', but I’m not sure if choosing this will lead to rejection or if the application will go through since it’s a pre-approved offer.

Would going offline to the branch be a better and safer option in this case? That way I can clearly explain my situation to the bank staff.

Has anyone here faced this?
👉 Is it okay to select 'Self-Employed' and proceed online or is visiting the branch the safer route?
👉 Does being unemployed affect pre-approved offers like this?

Any suggestions or shared experiences would really help.

Thanks in advance!

pre approved offers which offers those welcome vouchers especially are a scam... 90% of the time they will reject those applications...

Try out with salaried.. i dont think they will.ask for payslips while submitting application...
