Need advice: buy a car-sedan

Either you are one in a million lucky guy or you still haven't tasted the bitter experience of getting these german cars repaired....
no doubt they are gem of a car but way down at bottom when it comes to maintenance
I just shared my 13-14 year of experience with both skoda and VW
Skoda aur vw ka future hai india me ??

Skoda sirf Slavia ki wajah se survive karra .
VW bhi kuch khas nii .

What do you think ?

I am a member of a Skoda WA group and also a VW WA group. So I'm not speaking only for myself but also from the experiences of others. In fact among the cars I have owned the most troublesome/unreliable one was a Maruti Alto.

In 2023 Jul, my car went into safe mode and refused to start even after all efforts...
I had to send it to workshop, found out that the part is not available right now but after couple days I got the message that the part is VIN codes and need to be specially imported from Czech and would take atleast 30 days, cost around 30k+ and best part is that even after all that they won't be sure that error would be solved...
Even basic service costs a bomb... Plus the car's engine system is hebrew for local mechanics

- Why did the car go into safe mode? The Scanner should have shown that. Did you ask the dealer?
- I don't know which car you use but most parts are shared across the VW group and you can get them easily.
- Basic service includes Synthetic Oil. Maruti, Hyundai, Tata etc use Mineral Oil. Check the prices. Despite that the average service cost is 12K. That's for 15K Kms or 1 year. Maruti service works out more expensive over a 5 year period. Not to mention that VW/Skoda cars usually never need anything other than a regular service.
- Everything is Hebrew for local mechanics. Any competent mechanic who know how to use a scanner and can read a service manual can service a VW/Skoda.

I'd suggest you do a bit of research before posting as misguiding people. Forums are the best source of information.
