Good luck for your transition to ACT
As i said I always used ACT for years.. it was the.best here in Hyderabad.. they hardly have breakdowns. Even if it happens they will fix it in within afew hours..
My airtel broadband is still down from the yesterday evening..
will move to ACT.. probably close airtel axis card also along with it..

I hope my inputs didn’t come across as trying to gaslight you in any way. Please do take your decisions wisely, sir. As you rightly pointed out, local broadband providers are usually quicker to resolve issues since their reputation within the locality is at stake. Unlike Chortel, they don’t have a PAN-India presence, so they have a lot more to lose if service lapses.

BTW, what would you suggest as a good alternative to the Chortel Axsh*t card, as you are considering to close it? I’m specifically looking for recommendations for cashback based card that works well for utility bill payments. I noticed SBI PhonePe has recently launched one, which could be an option. Your thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. And of course, I hope we’re not drifting too far from the main topic of this thread.

Don't worry..
Noone ,I repeat Noone can influence in my decision making...
From the day 1 , I didn't like much about airtel broadband .. everyday at about midnight the broadband will be down for a few minutes whichbisxnot cool..

But I put up with it because of extra works like subscriptions to some OTTs and CB on airtel card etc..
But this recent outage is a deal breaker .The main service is broadband if there is going tobe 1 day outgrew just because of some rains..it is not acceptable.. The serious fact is even mobile broadband is not working in my pre paid mobile...

Lucky that I got my Jio prepaid is working ..otherwise it would have been a mess.

Regarding airtel CC , just now I realised I paid my annual feel about 4 months ago..
So for my next renewal it will go..

About other cards for utilities , yes phinepe cards are good. I may use infinia n apay combination as an alternative..
Not spending much time these days on all the available cards due to time constaints..

It all boils down to the last leg of the service provider.

Before JIO era, here in Bangalore we had tikona service provider in our neighborhood, these guys used to cut the copper lines of Airtel making them to stop providing for our area. Who ever had airtel had frequent outages and anyway airtel had to stop providing service eventually.

Now I too use ACT because in our area airtel still cabling the lines.

Regarding local service provider at stake comment, even the bigger ones too have their stake. They too take complaints seriously and do their due diligence.

Yes same in jio
But the good thing about Jio was i got free 75 GB data voucher while I renewed for 5 years along with my yearly subscriptions..
So 5* 75 gb vouchers..i enabled one such voucher last night.. it will be valid until current yearly subscription expires which is cool..
Jio is way better than airtel in many cases..

Haven't faced this issue in Jio yet
In my area jio 5g coverage is very good, so daily data won't even reach 1 gb through 4g network. But in Airtel even when using 5g I can see daily data deduction from daily data limit. I read somewhere that they are showing 4g+ as 5g network.

Means in the areas where 4g kicks in when 5g drops out , this unlimited thing won't work..
Now I understand why there was a speed throttle once i reached daily limit
Airtel 5G is NSA - so it keeps shifting from 5G to 4G where network is weak, but it will show as 5G only. Aitel is good only for family postpaid and for corporate customers who claim reimbursement.

Sometimes phones automatically switch to 4g despite having 5g in the area for stronger signal. There is an app available on playstore that prevents it from happening. You can enjoy 5g all the time!
Only problem is you will have to turn it off if there is really no 5g available in the area or you will lose the signals entirely.
