Are your incoming services active?
Incoming services always remain active with Jio. For more than 3 years they didn't even deducted Rs.20 yet IC services remained active. But I have kept Rs.250+ topup balance in all sims and from last 3 months they are deducting.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Like SMS, Calls & OTP <<<<<<<<<<<

Btw OTP comes in SMS so SMS, Calls active. Companies can never block otp only sms and keep other active.

No chortel blocked my axshit chortel cc OTP, when ironically i was going to recharge my chortel number only. My pack got expired so no OTP I received for more than 30-40 mins. After recharge using UPI sms and otps were resumed. Plus jio still has a customer care to reach out to. Chortel = No customer care

Jio sim runs in jio phone ?
Like if I port bsnl to jio and use it in jiophone , will it work ?
They are no longer cheaper, except 75 plan and 336 days plan + in case you want to use full fledged service, out of jio phone you can't use that...

20 rs Deducted but how many days of validity will you get with each such deduction? Can you summarize how with just 240/- to get 365 day's validity..
Finally Jio has started deducting Rs.20 every month from my inactive sims. It's good that atleast they are following TRAI rule. Every 31st day I receive SMS of Rs.20 deduction now. Now I am sure my number wont be deactivated till balance becomes lower than Rs.20.

Will activate Rs.98_14 Days Plan Vouchers I have and then again top them up.

Not a bad deal for 1 year at Rs.240 for number retention

You'll get the cashback, but one downside I faced in chortel is basically, as soon as your pack expires, you stop receiving incoming SMS & calls. Personally this was a deal breaker to me. I ported from Jio to chortel, experienced this bs and then ported back to Jio, because ironically 1 day my pack expired and for the recharge to go through using the axshit chortel cc I would have needed an OTP, which I wasn't receiving as the pack expired, so missed on the cash back, had to process the recharge through UPI; Plus with chortel you can't call a lot of bank's customer care numbers. You would need to recharge with separate voice and talk-time kinda packs like in the old days. Personally I have 2 numbers, and recharge them alternatively. In Jio I recharge 1 number for 84 days and then as soon as it expires, I recharge the other for another 84 days. In this way I keep both numbers active, because I don't exceed the 90 day period boss. Once you exceed the 90 day period without recharge on your number, you have good chances of losing out your number. So I at all times get Incoming calls and SMS in Jio on both my numbers (1 active + 1 inactive (no recharge) at all times) which I believe is the main reason of even keeping a phone at the first place, that one should receive a call/text.

Consider all these points before porting & don't be penny wise and pound foolish like me & then eventually come back to Jio.
1860 calls free in jio

With Airtel once validity expires at 11:59:59 PM, all types of services incl. incoming SMS stops. So you can't expect any kind of SMSes incl. bank messages. 2 years ago they used to offer 7 days IC validity after OG expired and then reduced it to 3 days followed by no IC once recharge expires. I bought Airtel sim for testing services in 2009 and left it there and no relations with them after that.

Those who blame Jio for all in one packs should also go into fact that Balance Deduction for VAS and unwanted services was a normal and people were losing more money with AVoId cartel than others. Even RGSM had mastered the art of balance deduction and they used to make balance Nil even though when you left Rs.200 balance. In name of hello tunes people were spending Rs.30-79 every month.

For roaming you had to recharge with Roaming packs and even then calls were not free but reduced rates. Sending SMS from roaming was charged heavily even when you had active SMS pack. Ek ek cheez ke liye alag se loota jata tha.

But people will not understand it ever how Jio has actually saved thousands of rupess for 8 years for them. They still looking at Rs.10 top up with OG validity. Even if Jio had not arrived, these things would have stopped.

The data revolution in India and the pace of growth of country with that only became possible because of Jio.

After getting 4G spectrum Airtel was of view that 5GB Data should cost Rs.499/month on 4G. Sunil Mittal was always found crying that operators should be given free hand to charge customer at their will.
