Had a recent car accident and had to get the car towed. I previously had the IDFC Mayura credit card but closed it a few months back. However, I had another IDFC credit card in my sister’s name primarily for the Roadside Assistance. This card has seen hardly any transactions in the past 12 months.
When I called the Global Assure RSA helpline, they only asked for the last 4 digits of the card and the last 4 digits of the registered mobile number to check eligibility. However, it showed that the service was “suspended.” I didn’t have much time to contact IDFC to find out the exact reason, but it might have been due to card inactivity.
In the end, I used my friend’s IDFC card to use the RSA.
Highly recommended to keep at least one IDFC card active, even if just for RSA (Free upto 50 KMs). Keep these 3 things handy:

- Save Global Assure RSA toll-free number: 1800 572 3860 (Call connects in ~15 seconds)
- Mention you have an IDFC card and need a tow
- Keep your last 4 digits of the card and registered mobile number ready
