HSBC credit card approval

On 1st week of May I applied for HSBC live+ credit card when an HSBC agent reached out to me. I directly told that I need HSBC live+ credit card and I am ok with all the t&cs associated with that card. I provided all the necessary details for example salary slip, address proof. The executive congratulated me saying I got an approval along with I also received an acknowledgement mail from HSBC having application number.

Afterwards, no response for 3,4 days. I tried to reach out to bank's customer care team, and they could not find any application associated with my phone number and date of birth. Strange!!

I made a complaint to HSBC from the form provided by HSBC in their official website. HSBC first level complaint form link

Then after few days, one guy from HSBC team reached out to me saying that they are scheduling the video kyc regarding my credit card application and eventually I received the video kyc link in my phone number and email Id.

I went through video kyc process and it went smoothly.
Afterwards, long pause. No feedback, nothing from HSBC so far.

Tried to reach out to HSBC several times, but every time either the telephonic robo or the customer care executive says that there's no recent credit card application associated with my details.

Once again, long pause, no feedback or email from HSBC side.
Last week, I sent an email (complaints.india@hsbc.co.in) to HSBC asking for an immediate response as early as possible but still have not received any response from HSBC only no-reply acknowledgement from the bank server.

Just want to know, what's your experience with HSBC credit card application process? Is there anyone faced same issue either with HSBC or some other bank?
I just want to know what's going on ? Either they have rejected the application or it's still in process. If it's rejected, can I ask them the reason?

I have tried several ways to get bank's feedback, so in this case, can I reach out to RBI Ombudsman. What's your suggestion?

So today I got an SMS from HSBC that says,
You will receive a message within 2 business days on how to generate pin.
It seems like all the complaints and emails are providing some fruitful results.
Anyway, I will keep on posting updates, let's see how it goes. ✌🏼

Congrats ! it's approved, you will not get any text with pin, The next message would be from Blue Dart on the day of delivery...Once you get the card, download the Mobile app activate the card and set the pin...I got my first statment and the cashback seems like worth the hassle

I applied 1st week of May, completed video kyc by next week. Now today got this email.

No verification, maybe it's because of I am already living in tier-1 city, and my office is also here.

I dont understand, these people are mad or what. Experiencing something utterly disgusting. So today I received the delivery from HSBC. Although I expected it to be HSBC live+ card what I applied for, but what I received is: HSBC Visa platinum credit card.
I clearly remember the fact that when the agent called me I clearly mentioned that if it's HSBC live+ then I am ok to apply and she did so.
Plus, when I was doing the video kyc the representative from HSBC told that it's HSBC Live+ credit card to make sure that I am aware of what I am applying for.

And now I am receiving HSBC Visa platinum card 🤣🤣.
Fortunately, it's an LTF card, I have no problem keeping it, although I am curious that am I eligible for the 250 rupees amazon voucher that HSBC provides after activating this card.

Little annoyed and frustrated at the same time. Cannot expect this poor service from an international bank.
Anyway I am thinking to activate this card and start using it, later I will reapply for HSBC Live+ card from cashkaro. 😀

This is card is not of much use, if you planning to activate it then Flip it to Live+ , otherwise lodge complaint again...I was expecting Citi Bank like service but it is more like PNB 😐

This is card is not of much use, if you planning to activate it then Flip it to Live+ , otherwise lodge complaint again...I was expecting Citi Bank like service but it is more like PNB 😐
It's better to lodge a complaint, this card has no use tbh.
This time, I will raise a complaint to RBI.
 
Last and final update in this thread:
After receiving the card, I did not activate the card, as I was in dilemma whether I shall activate the card or not.

From Monday, HSBC team started calling me and tried to convince me saying that it was me who asked for this card and requested me to activate and suggested to request for a flip after 3 months.

I was still not convinced and decided to wait.

4th June:
Got a call from HSBC requesting the same stuff. I told him the same story. He shared HSBC customer care contact number and asked me to call on this number and request for a flip. He also suggested to go to the nearest HSBC branch and get help from branch manager.
HSBC CUSTOMER CARE NUMBER: 18002673456
Immediately, called on this number and shared all the things and demanded for a flip, also stated that if it's necessary I am ok to visit branch.
The person from the other side explained all the benefits of the card along with the charges, asked me if I am ok with all the terms and conditions.

Then he raised request for flip the card. Got request number from HSBC over sms where it said that it will take maximum 7 days to review the request and close the matter.

Same day afternoon got sms from HSBC stating that, they are closing the request but I was unaware about the status either they have approved or rejected the flip request.

5th June Morning:
Randomly, checking the HSBC application and I found that it's showing HSBC live+ card, and the last 4 digits of the card in my credit card section instead of the visa platinum ltf card. Verified with the card number with my HSBC visa platinum card and card number in the mobile application was not matching with my current card. It's almost certain that they have approved the flip request and issued a new card.

Later, I also got that god damn sms from HSBC stating, that

[SIZE=4]you will receive a message within 2 days on how to generate your HSBC Card Pin via sms.[/SIZE]

So, now it's almost certain that finally getting HSBC LIVE+ card and it will be arriving soon.

So I applied for the HSBC Live+ card late night on Monday, 12th May through the CashKaro link. My Aadhaar is from a non-serviceable area, so this time I used my rental and office address (last time I couldn’t go ahead with the application because of the Aadhaar PIN code issue).

Did the VKYC on 13th morning, and got an email on 14th (Wednesday) confirming it was successful. Even got a call from CashKaro to confirm the same. After that, there was total silence from HSBC — but I didn’t bother following up since I had read here that it’s pretty normal.

Then suddenly on 21st May, I got an SMS: “Dear Customer, you will receive a message within 2 days on how to generate your HSBC Card PIN via SMS.” So I figured the card was approved.

On Friday, 23rd May, I received the card — came with one of the highest limits I’ve got so far: ₹5.39L!

For context, I have 18 other credit cards (planning to close 7-8 of them soon), CIBIL score is 791, and close to 9 years of credit history with 100% on-time payments.

Other than the lack of communication, the whole process was actually pretty smooth.
Today I applied with my Aadhaar address as permanent but it was non serviceable pin code(Village) but current resident and office address was at Chennai but application rejected due to internal policy.

From your point of view, I understand that Only giving current as permanent address and office address for the card approval right and is there any physical verification happened for address verification in your case. Please confirm and suggest me for the quick approval of HSBC Live+ credit card. I also have 20+ credit cards from all banks CIBIL 788 from last 6 years 100% on time payment

Till the time your current address and office address is in serviceable pincode, it should be fine, There was no Physical verification, If your Company is in the preferred list of HSBC, then it's easier to get the card, As you have 20 plus, there is a possibility that you may be over leveraged, but cannot be sure

Follow the steps mentioned in this thread and it should work. (Wait for 30 days and try applying through Cashkaro)


There was no physical verification in my case and I already had 18 other cards before getting this one.
