Yes, I logged in with my Amex India credentials. I too have Utopia and I am apprehensive about it too but Its worth a try. I am trying to open a traditional Bank account via HSBC India where I have a premier account and as a benefit they allow you to open accounts in other countries.
Were you able to open your hsbc us account using your Indian hsbc premier account?

Yes, if you have a HSBC premier account, speak to your RM, they'll do the rest.
I have premier account based on mortgage.
When I asked about opening premier account in USA he said maintain balance of 40L here then we’ll be able to process.
I although couldn’t find any documentation of this.
Also Your US account has Indian address or US address?
And they opened a zero balance checking account for you?

Hmm. That's weird. You can also try directly applying on the US HSBC website and quote your existing premier status..
Yes, I dont need to maintain any balance there as long as I maintain my premier status in India. I have my India address on my US account.

I recently moved to us and applied using the same process. They called me shiny to produce address proof and uploaded my rental agreement. Post that i received a mail with the application decision.

In order to view the decision, we need SSN number along with zip code. It's there anyway that i can know the application status without SSN ?

I'd like to share my experience of getting an Amex US Green card approved in less than 24 hours and dispatched. (No Address Proof Required).
PS : I am an existing Amex Platinum Charge holder in India.

1. Start with the Nova Credit application.
2. when you get redirected to the Amex page. Login with your existing Amex credentials.
3. Provide your US Phone number and an US address (I gave a friend's address)
4. When prompted say yes to transfer credit history from your home country.
5. Complete the submission.

I got a call from Amex team on my US number to verify my address and then confirmed the card is approved and will be dispatching it in few hours ( June 6th) .
Card is now about to get delivered today June 7th.

I'll pick it up when I go to US next month.

Hope this helps.
I did exactly the same, but they asked for address proof...

Which bank account did you opened?
I don't have the US bank account. My brother will pay the bill on my behalf as he is in US. Since Aeldra is closed, there is no alternative providing the US bank account, Utoppia is also on waiting list.
