I hold following bank accounts

  1. ICICI Bank (Savings) - For salary crediting and investments
  2. IDFC First Bank (Savings) - for savings purposes, it gives good rate of interest.
  3. DBS - Idk why I am still holding this.
  4. Paytm Payments Bank - Had opened it long back, not sure why I am holding this too.
  5. Fi.money - For day to day transactions as my primary savings account would get cluttered with few hundred rupees transactions.
  6. Jupiter - Had opened alongside with Fi, thinking to close this.

Is idbi service very bad??

IDBI service is okay. Not on par with ICICI. The branch i have account is generally very crowded and is almost like a public sector bank

Haha ...

It used to be excellent when it was actually a Government-owned bank.

In my experience it has been gradually going downhill for a long time now, with the trend unchanged by privatisation!

The once-excellent netbanking has also become amongst the worst now!

There is no reason to open an account with them anymore.

  • ICICI, HDFC, SBI: FD side of things (that is my mergency fund and additionally parts of my debt portfolio) since these are DSIBs.
  • Kotak: txn a/c and added for SIPs and to-and-from for MFs and stocks (HDFC is also ) and for ITR etc. (has a large sweep-out FDs as well but for MFs/stocks)
  • Looking for a 5th a/c to make the transaction a/c and stop using Kotak as the txn a/c as Kotak has lots of other txns like dividend etc and I keep larger amount there.
Plan is to disable UPI, Aadhar based transfer etc to any a/c other than the transaction a/c.

Anyone of you using Standard Chartered Basic Savings Account? How is your experience?
Using SC since 2011
It used to be good . Now their support, customer service have all gone worse.
I don't find time to visit their branch to close the account.

Drop a mail, drop a reminder, drop a RBI ombudsman. Then Keep calm.
Hehehe
This was a year ago for a different issue, but their email acknowledgement, not reply, comes after 30 days, Yes I counted. Sent few emails, calls , etc. Nodal officer is equally a sh#t show. They left no hope and I left disappointed. Besides, there is no incentive to hold this bank account. My other sb ac & their support, all work well enough.

anyone knows which app allows online account opening without vkyc...it's fine if the account will have limited functions.

Fantastic. Good exposure and experience with many banks in all domains ie
PSU, Pvt, Fintech kind.

Actively using:
1. Indusind Indie (0 MAB): Generally good, but the mobile app is very sluggish. For debiting mobile fees, etc.
2. Kotak Solo (0 MAB): It was Kotak Pro (20K MAB) when opened. Aggressive telemarketing from the bank. Converted to Solo and not having any particular uses for now.
3. AU Savings - Value (10K MAB): Initially I wanted to open digital account, but my PIN code does not allow that variant. Good debit card offerings, and hence made the debit card annual fees worth it. My main account for usual purchases and cash handling at the branch.
4. Fincare 101 First (0 MAB): Waiting to become AU bank account some time in the future. I don't have a particular use for it now.
5. Equitas Regular (10K MAB but 0 maintenance charges): For UPI. They started to charge SMS fees. Generally reliable.
6. Slice (0 MAB): For parking some small amounts of cash. Highly recommended. Zero fees whatsoever and daily interest payout.

Closed:
1. HDFC Regular (10K MAB)
2. CSB Orange/Blue (5K MAB)
3. PNB (2K MAB)
4. Indian Bank (2.5K MAB)
