How I can make my regalia gold credit card lifetime free.

Hi community family,
Recently I have upgraded my regalia card to regalia gold credit card. But it has 2500 annual fee with spend of 4L waved off option. My previous card was Lifetime free how can I make current card life time free instead of spend based wave off.

By begging to customer care levels, upgrades of premium cards are not LTF in HDFC.

Along the same lines as this thread, I too have a paid RG which I've taken 4 months ago. I will achieve 4L this year, so next year fee is waived but next year my spends will not be as much and I'm planning to write to them. Is writing to the grievance mail ID the only way?

Did it work?

Honest opinion and no offence if one can't spend 4L / annum then the card isn't belong to your spend criteria. Never apply for premium cards just to feel yourself premium and then to achieve milestone and avail spend based waive off criteria don't end yourself overspending inturn leads into debt trap.

You shldnt have upgraded from ltf.. Now all of a sudden you are feeling the pressure of just 2500 fees rather seeing the what the card actually holds in terms of benefits.

100% right...People do not understanding this basic principal.

I have a different opinion. People may have a mix of cards to suit their expenses and may use one card over the other based on its inclusion/exclusion so as to optimise. When someone asks the bank to make their card LTF it may not be because they can't spend that fee waiver milestone. I have Amex Plat Travel, Reg Gold, Atlas. Each have their own milestones and I target to hit each of them. But there maybe situations where one card could be used more over the other due to inclusion/exclusion. And when one reads about banks giving these cards LTF for some select people, one thinks what is the harm in trying! 🙂

Thats why I said all of a sudden your feeling the pressure to waive off for just 4L/annum in premium category .. Lots of ppl have cards with paid version.. Either they hit milestone or not.. The fee doesn't matter bec in a year overall they have accumulated either points/rewards/voucher overall in other card spends so they don't care abt paying for unused card that particular year as they know their spend criteria.
If the guy has multiple cards then he would have made a comprehensive spend pattern and he would have known where to use which card at what time + when to upgrade his credit card portfolio.

Overall if you don't have a grip over your credit card (money) then card has grip over you.

To each their own. I don't know if it is the pressure or just trying to get the best offer. But if fee doesn't matter, then we would not be hearing/reading so many stories of how people get LTF cards and strategies around it. True that this may not concern people with premium cards. I would say Reg Gold is still sub-premium
