HDFC Platinum DC Issue

Hi guys, very briefly:

Opened SavingsMax account on 1st April 2025, received the welcome kit. Set the PIN for DC and also the domestic transaction limits. Turned OFF international txns

Did not use the DC till now because I did not really have the need to use it. I tried using it now on Myntra via Smartbuy since it has the x10 offer going on

But when I tried to do the transaction it fails giving the reason as Alt ID provisioning failed

Also just to troubleshoot, I turned OFF the domestic limits and turned them back ON and Saved in the MyCards app. And tried the above process again, still no online payment processing.

What do you recommend I do next? Go to bank?

I went to a nearby ATM to try withdrawing some cash, but there also it is giving error saying something along the lines of this operation is not allowed on this card

Then I just tried to check balance in the ATM which was successfull so this confirms that the PIN is working

Try to have a word with Cust Care first, they may check and resolve.

I have emailed them, waiting for response.

I was successfully able to withdraw cash, the reason I was not able to was actually a bit stupid. The ATM I was using had buttons on the side and not a touch screen. I thought I was selecting an option by pressing the button on the side, but turns out you need to press the button that is exactly next to the option. From my eye level I was pressing 1 button UP and the ATM was cancelling my session.

Now the issue is only with online transactions actually.
Even on Amazon when I add the card on the payments screen it only says "Mastercard" its not mentioning the bank name. For my other cards its mentioning the bank name along with variant so for example Kotak Mahindra Bank Visa card, State Bank of INdia Visa card.
But for the HDFC Platinum card its only sayings MasterCard

When I click on make payment on the final screen, it shows "loading bank page" for the OTP but I never get the OTP, the bank page never loads and the screen just goes back to the Shopping cart.

Have you tried some where else, like online Recharge on telecom services provider website or may be any other app or site.
Have you tried net banking to set transaction limit ? On Off etc

You set transaction /change via my cards only or tried net banking also ?
 
I used to have similar problem with millenia dc so I went to branch and he just increased the limit to the max (4 lakh) (was 25k) and then it worked. Try changing the limit of the card and it might work.

I have used the card on Amazon only. If the card works on one site and not on other then it might be site error rather than the card.
 
That could be it, its surprising that its not working through its own partner channel i.e, via Smartbuy-Myntra
If I remember correctly, you had that black platinum DC right? If yes, then:

That could be because this card has been discontinued, SmartBuy may have permanently removed it from their backend, as they need to reward debit and credit cards.

No no, I opened my HDFC account in April only. So got the new Platinum DC not the old Easyshop variant which is discontinued.
 
My bad, I thought you had that old one. In that case, why don't you close this DC then order a new one?
Yup thats going to be my next step. Will visit the branch and ask them to close this and issue a new one. I think they will charge me the replacement cost which is ~200+gst
 
You can hotlist from your home and issue from the app/netbanking itself.

I actually want to change my name on the card as well because the card is supposed to show first and last name, but HDFC has clubbed my middle and last name and printed it as the last name on teh card which is a mistake. I wonder if netbanking gives option to type name of choice.

Ahh, well for that you have to visit branch. Keep your aadhaar card and pan card with you in case.

Most likely they might ask you to do re-kyc to fix the name in the account. Usually HDFC emboss first name and last name on your card, so perhaps you have to get the name fixed first as you stated HDFC did mistake on their end.

Once that's get settled, then order a new DC.
