I’m planning to apply for a few credit cards and just had a quick doubt. While applying, if I select “Self-Employed,” is there any type of Office/Business verification done for the cards I am tryin to apply (Listed Below)? As far as I know, below cards don’t ask for income proof during the online process — but just wanted to be sure.

I’m 21, currently holding 3 credit cards (Kotak, Axis, etc.). My Axis card has a ₹1.2L limit (unsecured), and I’ve got a credit history of around 3 years.

Cibil : 784
Experian : 798

Planning to apply for the following cards (not all at once) — mainly because most are LTF:

- HDFC Swiggy Credit Card (I know it’s not LTF but the rewards are too good)

- Amazon Pay ICICI

- IndusInd Platinum Aura Edge

- IDFC Millennia

- RBL ShopRite

- Uni Card

- AU Bank Xcite via Swipe

Would really appreciate any inputs from people who’ve applied above cards.

Thanks in advance 🙏

may or may not, depends on ur profile and bank algorithm on ur profile. Can't guarantee. One may get and other may not, there is no guarantee.. applicable all listed cards.
Thanks for the reply!
Just curious — in your case, what actually happened when you applied as self-employed/salaried? Did they ask for any documents or call for verification? Would really help to know from your experience..

At that time, I was self employed. I got my Amazon Pay card about 6 years ago, but I don’t think I remember any verification process. That’s a bit different now, I guess. But still there is a very slim chance that they will do any physical/document verification of your self employed status in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing that!
Could you please tell me if the same applies to IDFC as well? Like, do they also usually skip verification for self-employed applicants?

as per my knowledge until you are not 25 you should not apply as self emplyed you should apply with salaried person

Creating multiple threads won't help.

I can say about my Apay Experience. What my RM said is that in ICICI they somehow prefer salaried individuals over self-employed unless the customer is a very good customer with a even better cashflow and balance in current account. So I just selected MNC , put my salary and it got approved under 30 minutes.

Swiggy HDFC is one of the good ROI cards I currently have in my Portfolio besides Airtel Axis and SBI Cashback
