Which card is better between Amex MRCC and Gold Charge card (or any other Amex card) ?

The card which I mainly use are -
1. Axis Ace (for bill payments upto ₹10K and other offline uses)
2. SBI Cashback (strictly for online use)
3. SBI BPCL (for fuel)
4. RBL Valueplus supercard (for fuel upto ₹2500 p.m)

Major MONTHLY spends are -
1. Electricity bill payments of ~₹20000 per month (pm)
2. Offline spends of ₹25000 pm
3. Fuel spends of around ₹6000 pm
4. Online spends of around ₹7000 pm

I would prefer reward redemption in Amazon Pay vouchers rather than a luxurious hotel stay.

MRCC should do the trick for a simple reason - it can get you 2k MR points.

Gold charge would be a costly affair, for a few extra MR points. You can rather optimise those spends on other cards.

While talking about otherncredit cards - Platinum travel could be a good card for you. You can apply for platinum travel as well as MRCC/GOLD CHARGE (considering you'd only spend 6k/month on the mrcc/gold and rest on platinum)

Here's how -
Platinum travel has milestone spends. There are 2 milestones -
190k
400k
You can hit the first one with electricity payment alone. This would get you around 7-8% in return as Taj vouchers etc. Read about it more on the website linked.
With MRCC you can spend the remaining 6k/month for a nice 5% return.

So these two with SBI cashback and ace should get you excellent retuns

Gold charge gives you points on utility and fuel payment. So, will recommend that

Thanks for your detailed response bro.

Just one more query, can the fee on Gold Charge / Platinum travel be waived off ?
If yes, then how ?

They are not waived off as a rule, but you may request them to waive it off considering your spends.
They usually give you bonus points instead of waiver on request, while paying fees.

~4L spends on any of the card should make a good case for waiver or bonus

So if you're good to go with hotel vouchers etc, I think platinum travel would be a better value proposition for your scenario

i would suggest take both mrcc & gold for your usage.. you can easily complete 1500x4 and 1000x6 just buy amazon pay vouchers and using that for electricity bill payment..

Incase my posts have helped you and if you interested to apply using my link

It differs on how you intend to pay Electricity Bills. You should use Amazon Pay for Electricity bill payments.

Buy 20K worth amazon Gift cards each month. Use Rewards multiplier for buying this (Amex Gyftr).
Best possible MR point to Apay GV redemption value = 38.8 Paisa per MR point

Gold Charge Card : (5x multiplier for GV purchase)

Split Apay GV purchase in 6 Transactions worth 1000 INR or more while doing so.

Monthly milestone MR points for (1000 x 6) = 1000
MR points for GV purchase with multiplier = 2000
Yearly MR points: 36000

Return Rate = 5.83% (for 2.4L spends in year)

Platinum Travel (3x multiplier for GV purchase)

No Monthly milestone.

MR points for 2.4L worth Apay vouchers (for the Year) - 14400
Annual Milestone for 1.9L spends : 15000
Annual MR points total : 29400

Return Rate = 4.75%. (for 2.4L spends in year)

(If you manage to 4L in a year with this card though, which gives another 25K MR points milestone benefit, then return rate would be 5.58%)

MRCC : (2x multiplier for GV purchase)

Split 20K Apay GV purchase in 4 Transactions of 1500 INR or more.

Monthly Milestone MR poins for 1500 x 4 = 1000
Monthly Milestone MR points for 20K monthly spends = 1000 (you'd need to enroll to this benefit)
MR points for 20K purchase including multiplier = 800

Monthly MR points : 2800
Yearly MR points : 33600

Return Rate = 5.43 % (for 2.4L spends in year)

In case of MRCC, you'll have no renewal fees as spends will be more than 1.5L in an year. This could boost the returns on MRCC even further.

Considering this I'd say get MRCC for your use case. Plat Travel and Gold charge card won't have any fees waiver though you could negotiate to get some MR points against the fees for both. Considering your MR point redemption option is Apay GV only, I would not suggest either of those cards, this approach is useful for those who want to redeem them against Mariott Bonvoy points.

Nice analysis, but it’s important to note that APay redemption at 38.8p is only available under Gold collection for Gold and MRCC, and not on the Plat Travel, which will probably give at best 25p per point.
