Devaluation Airtel app levying usage fee on utility payments on Airtel Axis credit card

Airtel started levying usage fees on electricity bill payments while using Airtel Axis credit card on its app. Might add the same for other bill payments also.

I am not able to see axis cc option in old app version (4.115.1) while paying electricity bill, but in new version on other mobile, it is showing with some charges.

Any1 using old app version can confirm if the cc option is showing for electricity payments or not plz?

They have removed cc option in older versions

They aren't giving cc option on 799 recharge pack of jio but on 899 its available 😂. Can u please confirm for me ?

So basically, they're passing on MDR charges to the users. Wasn't there a guideline from RBI that this is illegal?

Not just Airtel, Amazon, Paytm and almost all apps have started doing this with different names. Ques is, what is RBI doing?

not only these platforms but every places especially offline sanitory, paint, electrical etc. any place charge fee for credit card usage. Point is these all places offer atleast one mode of payment as free of cost, and only particular mode with charges.

Ex: UPI free, but credit card chargeable..

Its upto us whether we can use that in that place or not. RBI only ask if none of them offering at free of cost otherwise, they can only say -- why not pay with that?

Its customers responsibility and unity that only if everyone stop purchasing on that shop then they'll waive the fee for that mode, otherwise they're always in upper hand.


FTH started MDR charges for credit card loading, I stopped using that app but it still works and people still using it with those charges.

Zepto charges 79rs. for 700rs. cart as processing/platform fee, I stopped using it but still app used by many with same charges.

Currently airtel recharge is working for me in old app .. via airtel Axis Bank card
