After BHIM, Phonepe app | GooglePay now Enabled International UPI payment:

First Update your GooglePay app to latest version.

Open GooglePay app, Go to your profile (Uppar right cornor),

Bank accounts >> click your UPI linked Bank account >> Manage International payments >> Now Enabled or Disabled your International UPI Payment.

Upi international is free or is there any convenience charges?

UPI international is free. However, bank may charge some forex markup fee (if pay through other currency) but INR payment no charges. UPI will use local currency including INR for International payment.

I already paid some International online website via UPI and no extra charges and currency conversion value is exactly same as google search.

Note - UPI and RuPay cards will always give you the lowest charges in future for International payment. Govt will also offer some cashback offers for International payment via UPI and RuPay Card in future because we will save our forex reserve. The Chinese govt often offers cashback on China UnionPay card spending Internationally.

However, I am telling all this about future plans. Recently, i read this news initially NPCI didn't focus on charges, NPCI focus on the Local Currency Settlement System (LCSS) is working properly or not.
