From when is this revised reward redemption rate effective? Also will this be applicable even for the points accrued already or for the points that will be earned in future?

Personally stil I do not see value for the renewal fee that needs to be paid for this card. Expecting more revaluations from IDFC if the card needs to be retained. 🤣

I saw it few days ago in my email. I thought it wont be anything major since not many here like this mayura cc anyways.

I did a couple of mock tests for flights. This is 1 example:

On IDFC app
AirIndia 26th june (free seat + meal)
Kolkata 02:25 - Delhi 04:55
Rs. 5234
+ Convenience fee Rs. 300
Total = Rs. 5534
- 15% cc discount code = Rs. 4749

On MMT
AirIndia 26th june (free seat + meal)
Kolkata 02:25 - Delhi 04:55
Rs. 5651
- Rs 565 discount for using IDFC cc
= Rs. 5086
+ Convenience fee Rs. 345
Total = Rs. 5431

This is Rs. 682 savings + I will get Rs. 580 worth of reward points with IDFC.

Not sure if this is worth for all domestic flights or not.

For International flight
Kolkata - Singapore
26th June (Singapore Airlines)
IDFC App - Rs. 16352
SG App - Rs. 16896

I did not bother going all the way to the payment page. But I am sure there will be a 15% discount as well atleast.

I think its better than travel edge. Any thoughts ?

I think this revaluation is not just for Mayura/ Ashva, but all IDFC cards in general. The T&Cs indicate that this multiplier towards hotel and flight bookings, is applicable to all credit cards from IDFC, and not Mayura and Ashva alone. Following is the multiplier factor for IDFC's LTF CCs -

Flight Spends: LTF Cards (FIRST Classic, FIRST Select, FIRST Millennia, First FAMILY, First Wealth) = 20x Bonus Points/ 150 Spent
Hotel Spends: LTF Cards (FIRST Classic, FIRST Select, FIRST Millennia, First FAMILY, First Wealth) = 50x Bonus Points/ 150 Spent

Point Conversion 1 RP = INR 0.25

(Similar is the case for LIC Cards, Power Cards etc.)

IMHO, While Mayura 2.0 has a higher Point conversion at 1 RP = INR 0.5, and 30X bonus point multiplier for flights, I think other IDFC CCs have become powerful too. So, if someone has a decent primary card (say Atlas), and a free card IDFC card (say select or wealth) then the travel/ hotel rewards of the free IDFC card along with, the 5999 + GST fee saved, will prove the upgradation to Mayura/ Ashva unnecessary. If, however, someone does not have any 0 Forex card with decent rewards, then the Mayura/ Ashva no more remain as bad as they were earlier, and maybe considered.

I think all IDFC cards have now become an excellent back-up choice for Atlas, once the travel spend ceiling of 2L/ month is reached.

Adding to the above,
Atlas
Air India website
Kolkata to delhi
26th june
02:25 to 04:55
Total price : 6050 (including Convinence charges)
Maharaja points : 492 (1pt=1re)
Booking to AI website gives add 2%
Total = 574
Atlas : 302
1 EM = 2 partner points (say Air india)
302*2 =604
Total discount = 574+604 = 1178
Total price = 6050-1178= 4872/-

If you convert into Accor
Then 604*1.8= 1087 ( add discount of 483)
Total discount = 4872-483= 4389/-

Through Axis Travel Edge portal
Total price = 5334/-
( No convience charges)
Atlas = 265
Price = 5334-265=5069/-
1 EM = 2 partner pts
Discount = 530
Total price = 4804/-
Convert into Accor
530*1.8=954 ( add discount 424/-)
Net price = 4380/-

Here's a catch after flight and if you are the traveller who had enrolled for Air India / indigo airline membership then you can claim your points.
So maharaja pts = 468
Returns = 4804-468=4336/-
Net returns = 4380-468=3912/-
( through Accor)

Now I don't know why in air india website it's too high for the same flight. Generally it matches with OTA prices except few hundreds and here it's almost 500 diff 🤔

If you get same price in AI website then atlas wins hands down. Also to be noted is Atlas has got tier based benefits and on other hand Mayura has got 0.5 forex mark up fees (yes it's not Zero).

What price are you getting for said flight on Travel edge portal.

I only see Select 1.00 , Mayura 0.50 and Ashva 0.40 in the list for points value.

Going to the final payment page, the max 15% discount is only valid for - credit cards - First private, mayura, club vistara, and ashva and debit cards - first private, first wealth and first select.

12% is all other idfc credit and debit cards.

Now 26th june flights are in high demand, is showing 5800 haha. I forgot to do incognito.
