I tried the second option; prepaid a certain amount, but then the transaction was declined with reason that my card didn't have sufficient balance.

When I talked to the customer representative, I was informed that irrespective of individual credit limit of my Axis cards, I could used each card upto the highest limit across my Axis cards as long as the total usage is upto the highest credit limit.

I am currently holding Vistara Infinite card which was issued a week ago. The current limit is not sufficient for my upcoming expenses. I might need to spend more than my card limit in single transaction a few times in upcoming months. Axis is not able to temporarily enhance my card's limit...
