Lounge overcrowding decreased?

Quite a lot of banks have put up spend criteria of 35k and more in a quarter to avail lounge access ,starting with HDFC ,then ICICI and most recently Axis and Yes Bank

How do you think this is going to affect crowding at Domestic Lounges ,Will we see decreased crowds at lounges in near future ?

Are there enough alternative LTF/Low Fee Credit and Debit Cards that still provide Lounge Access that people might switch to ?

Are you Personally Affected by these moves by banks ,will it cut down your own Lounge Usage ?

Banks still have to pay through their nose for these visits

,the only way i see it if some new Bank/Fintech or new product is launched and they'll give away easy lounge access on Low/No Fee Cards for faster Customer Aquisitions

,and then eventually they'll devalue it

But the banks won't due to abuse from almost all lounges breaching contractual terms letting anyone swipe all their cards to let all their family have a free buffer at the airport. At least this will deter most of these abusers and it will help them cover those charges by promoting use of their cards.

yeah. but the lounges have to stay in biz.. imagine the drop in volume.. they will do something to recover else they will shutt.. not sustainable

They have one common queue forn all and one for vistara gold and platinum tier with business ticket or one should hold a vistara ticket. Evennif u are a gold tier vistara butbhold a different airline ticket they will not allow inside. However some are lucky

This. With CV Gold or Platinum you only get free domestic lounge access when flying Vistara even in the cheapest fare.

The benefits of Club Vistara (or any airline loyalty programs for that matter) is to make you stick and fly with them.

Even the most benevolent ones (which aren't that many) have airport benefits that can only be used when flying with them or allied/affiliated airlines.

I'd not be surprised to see Vistara using Air India lounges instead in the near future.

It is still available with spend criteria, and spend criteria is not very high. People who want to use lounges will now concentrate spending on those cards which provide lounge benefits

Plus banks like ICICI keep giving instant discount offers on e-com all the time, making people use these cards. May be such offers will improve from the banks that have put spend criteria for lounge

Yes you need vistara boarding pass of any class

when u need to take family along then for each you need to meet spend criterion. Then it becomes tough and that is what cc companies want. Only good users get lounge

When you eat food just before a flight, it starts getting digested, and then when you get on the airplane, the environment is low pressure. This low pressure environment causes the gassiness.

Can that gas be used as fuel to fly the plane?

That would help reduce flight costs

Funny, the lines at the entrance of the airport and even security is faster than the line to the lounge. Sometimes it looks like a refugee camps with the large groups amassing outside preparing their whole deck of cards, carrying the whole kitchen in handbags.

They should make it a rule that the people in the line for lounge are allowed to present just one card. If it works, go in; if not, get lost. Make the customer do his homework of figuring out which card will work, instead of holding up the line for everyone else.
