Not necessarily. The Amazon app offered me an "Upgrade to a Lifetime Free card" (likely based on my > 1.5 years old APay card). Following that link opened an offer page on C2C basis, and led to a call back initiating an application from scratch, with a CIBIL hit + need for full documentation and everything!
Annoyed at the misleading offer, I'd dropped the application process half way through. The CIBIL hit remains.

That was a generic ad, not an exclusive offer to you. LOL

Your message didn't make it clear to me that the quoted part was conditional on applying through Twitter exclusively!
From next time, why not write your messages a bit more clearly, so there is no scope of misinterpretation by people like me with an apparent lack of comprehension skills? Then you won't have to jump all over people you don't even know!

Folks, I just got a call from the ICICI Bank Social Media team. They have taken a service request for the card "upgrade" for the Platinum Chip Credit Card (Visa variant). They said that the card would be issued upon approval by their team.
Can anybody tell how long will it take? And will I get any confirmation after it is issued?

It took just a day for me.
The confirmation I got was the transaction settings updated for your card xxxx or something like that on email.
You'll receive the tracking link later from BlueDart

Be that as it may, where a simple, polite response along the lines of: "I meant it to be for the Twitter route only" would have done, you preferred to be confrontational in a public forum. Amazing!
It's your prerogative, surely. And it is my prerogative to avoid all interactions with an uncivilized person. You are put on my ignore list.

My card has still not been generated, and the iMobile app shows that the service request is still open.
By the way, did you receive any confirmation email or SMS from them after the service request was raised?
