Issue Resolved 2000 Compensation From Federal Bank

The highlighted issue has been resolved by the bank/financial institution.
When i applied scapia
I had two fedral cards
I had Jupiter account
had 7 enquirers in 30 days

I believe these are just random reasons actual reason is something else
It's definitely a lame reason, that's why we need more transparency in loan applications, they should mention eligibility criteria and rejection reasons clearly. I even asked how many enquiries in a particular timeframe is acceptable as per their criteria, but they were not ready to comment on that😁

Can anyone guide for SBI Cashback. They denied at PNO level as well quoting I have large number of credit cards
Large number of unsecured loans or total credit limit above your income may lead to rejection, I have heard such experiences on different forums. You can try to increase your income on next application or close some less useful cards.

You don't have to wait. Since you received a response and you are not satisfied, you can lodge your complaint.

Read para 15 for more details
Can i attached this email as a reminder email in RBI Compliant
Is that RBI Guidelines notification number is right which I have mentioned

Stupid BO of Lucknow closed my case saying

"The complaint is regarding rejection of the credit card application without exact reason. Rejection/Approval of credit card application is a commercial decision of a bank, and no intervention under the Reserve Bank Integrated Ombudsman Scheme is envisaged in such matters. The bank has informed the reason of rejection to the complainant vide email dated 26.03.2025. Hence, complaint is closed at our end"

Then go ahead with RBI, don't forget to mention PNO's behaviour in your complaint.
Updated-1 today I recieved email from Federal Bank after the complaint to RBIO
Now they told the reason of rejection that
You have enquiries in last six months
Now what will happen next how I may get compensation from federal Bank

You will receive a mail from RBI in few days, in that email RBI will ask for your reply to bank's response. Please wait for that.

This reason is totally irrelevant you should appeal
I got the email from federal Bank I am attaching
Now what should I do should I riplay to bank or should I wait for RBIO response
I know they won't approve the card right now but I want compensation??

You can't do anything with compensation. RBIO will most likely to close complain without compensation as your case as not strong. It is general case and 95 percent of times RBIO don't give compensation.

Okey but can you tell me what will be the next as the complaint status is open as of now

I have faced a similar issue.

On March 4, 2025, I applied for a Scapia Credit Card and was immediately rejected. I sent emails to Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support, referencing the relevant RBI circular.

However, Federal Bank refused to share the exact reason for the rejection.

On April 10, I registered a formal complaint with the RBI.

Surprisingly, on April 11, I received a response from Federal Bank referencing a completely unrelated credit card application dated April 1—this has no connection to my original complaint.

On April 21, I received a communication from the RBI Ombudsman requesting feedback or objections. I very strongly objected, pointing out that Federal Bank had responded with incorrect and misleading details regarding a different application.

It seems as though Federal Bank considers itself above regulatory accountability, acting as though it is the RBI itself.

Raise a strong objection by mentioning "Bank is intentionally refused to share the exact reason,RBI Circular violation ,etc"
Attach the emails screenshot sent to bank before The RBIO complaint.
Also ask for a compensation.

In my case, bank shared a different credit card application details.

After reply to the Feedback/Objection mail to RBIO.
There is no update.

Even the compaint status is showing as "Complaint registered with bank

No idea whether federal Bank gives compensation in my case.
Basically Federal Bank always refuse to provide compensation and loot customers.

Tip:You can use chatgpt to create a strong objection/feedback

Today I got Email from federal Bank that the original credit card application is declined due to Higher Enquiries in Credit report.

They are frequently changing reasons

The complaint was closed in favour of federal Bank.
Seems like federal Bank is paying some money to ombudsman for resolving issue
Even the case is genuine

2000 rupees compensation recieved from Federal Bank for not sharing scapia card rejection reason.

On 3rd March i recieved an email, which was an invitation to apply for the scapia credit card. but when i tried to apply for the card, app told me that existing federal bank credit card holders are not eligible. Then next day i received a notification from the app, as per the notification existing federal bank card holders can apply for the card once they updated the app. I updated the app and applied for the card, but they instantly rejected it without mentioning any specific reason.

Then i contacted all three levels of their grievance officers to know the exact reason for rejection, but none of them are ready to share the exact reason. And one of them even told me that they are issuing cards on a limited basis as part of a phased rollout, then why they invited me in the first place.

On 15th March i filed complaint on RBI ombudsman portal, after that bank informed me that excessive number of credit enquiries in my credit report was the main reason for rejection. Then why they are not ready to share this reason earlier. Anyhow RBI closed my complaint on 28th March by giving 2000 rupees compensation.

Banks should be more transparent about card eligibility and rejection. Everyone should try to enquire the reason behind every rejection.
