Infinia HDFC Infinia Request Rejected even after Fulfilling 'Spend + Limit' Criteria [Update: Approved]

Hi… I have dcb plastic paid , regalia ltf and Tata Neu infinity ltf , with cl of 14 lakhs… I have annual expenses of around 8 to 10 L on dcb, 1-2 L on Neu card and negligible spend on regalia… I have other cards which I use when the dcb is not accepted… those spends could be in the range of 1 to 2 L per year…. I had sent a strong worded mails to the hdfc credit card department two times in the last 2 yrs… they have always rejected… what should I do
u have regalia and dcb both??

anyways, which card has the most spends in last 6 months?

Whichever card it is, let us know your total spends in last 6 months (on only one card, not all).

Yes I have both regalia ltf and DCB paid….
The dcb had max spends in the last 6 months… around 6-7 lakhs ..

I am guessing 14CL is shared b/w both the cards?

If yes, DCB can be upgraded to infinia. But the last 6 months of 7L won't cut it. It has to be atleast 9L.

I got regalia gold to Infinia upgrade a month back. CL has to be above 8L which yours is, and spends has to be above 9L/6monhts.

Make sure you don't waste hdfc's time. don't ask for regalia upgrade, it won't happen unless you can get regalia's spends above or equal to 9L.

Don't ask hdfc to upgrade by combining total spends on both cards, they won't do it.

The criteria is simple, only one card can be upgraded. CL has to be above 8L and spends above 9L.

As regalia anyways is LTF, and DCB paid, it makes sense to upgrade DCB, and you have 6-7L spends anyways on it, try paying for some insurance or some bills, may be of family members or somehow spend it, you are quite close to getting an infinia.

New update on Infinia upgrade criteria:

Visited HDFC Bank recently for some work and was speaking to known people in CC department.

During conversation they shown me new head office letter dated 25/06/2025.
Upgrade criteria for Infinia officially changed to
- 9L spends in last 6 months
- 10L+ limit on existing card

Reason: Many banks have devalued a lot of credit cards and everyone wants Infinia. So high demand = high requirements.

Let us know if anyone gets upgrade processed with lesser limit.

last month @Sobirvs got upgrade with 8 lacs limit

I have HDFC Regalia Gold with 7 Lac limit (Got auto LE ~75 days back) currently and can spend 9+ in 6months started last statement.

I’ve spoken with my branch RM’s consultant for credit card: They told me that just spend 9+ in 6 months and mail to HDFC with last 6 months statement for increasing Credit Limit and getting Infinia based on last 6 months Spends via single form by doing check on some checkbox in the form. (They also stated that after 3 months from last auto LE offer, we can request for limit increase first and then apply for Infinia after spends met)

Need guidance over approach towards Infinia.

if this is true, I would be all over it, but RM's have a habit of lying. I have a RG with 3.45L myself and spends are around 6L currently. Can do 9L easily but HDFC won't upgrade till CL is 8L.

This 10L CL BS was peddled in march 2025 too. 8L works, have personally done it. I am not saying hdfc hasn't officially sent an email saying 10L is required, enough SS's for this reference, but 8L certainly works.

I have Infinia with CL<6L.

Should I go with limit increase first after 90 days from last pre-approved LE offer to get the limit.

So you stating that we cannot get Limit enhanced and Infinia in one go with spends criteria met?

Although there are some directions and guidelines that’s circulated to the bank employees for Infinia approval but it’s also done case to case basis discretion of the product team. So it’s true that usually it needs 10L CL with 9L spends in 6 months on existing Hdfc CC and if someone satisfies this criteria the approval most likely come thru. If you don’t, then it will be purely at the discretion of the product team which may take additional parameters into consideration and take a call such as one’s relationship with the bank, card usage history etc.
