HDFC Swiggy Card 1% cashback much less than expected.

So, today I received the 1% cashback for my HDFC Swiggy card transactions. And it is only ₹5.08 where my credit card bill is ₹4677 for this statement!

The only transaction probably ineligible is municipality tax for ₹989 paid online. Rest of all are offline transactions and mostly in restaurants. So, all of them should be eligible for 1% cashback. So, I should get at least ₹35 as cashback. Instead I got only ₹5. It's just outrageous!

Only first two are on 29th April. Rest are from 3rd May onwards.

hdfc mostly doesn't consider 29-30/31st of the month as same month

Yes I too noticed the same. I had infact maxed out 1% cashback quota (spent around 70k) and was expecting Rs 500 cashback, but I got only very very less. (something like Rs 23). I think Swiggy has either excluded all MCCs from its 1% bucket or it is a mass bug.

No, HDFC uses calendar months for CB calculation. The CB you're seeing is likely for the month before, check the previous statement.

Nah! Still doesn't make any sense. I have zero spends in March and so no statement was generated for April. And the cashback for February statement spends (spent on 31st January) was showing properly in March statement (on 19th Feb).

Then the cashback of ₹5.08 in this statement just does not add up.

I have already mailed to HDFC. Let's see!

I also did an medicine purchase by truemeds and guess what I didn't even receive 1% CB for it. Then after getting fed up I applied for Sbi CB Card 🤣

Also they sent "Reinstated 1% Cashback" in June. Check if you received the balance.

Update:

Got rest of the cashback after generation of statement of this month.

I don't know if it is normal or due to the complaints raised by me. But ideally this should not be the case. I should have received all the cashback in previous month.

Yup! Got the rest as "reinstated cashback". Here's the calculation below.

Total Eligible Cashback = 36.94/-
Cashback given previously = 5.08/-
Pending Cashback = 36.94 - 5.08 = 31.86/-
Reinstated Cashback = 32/-

So, they provided little more than pending may be for rounding it off.
