Which Debit Card to use for Credit Card Bill Payment in May 2025

"Phonepe Recharge" - telecom category

"Phonepe Private Limited" - mcc 5399 (General Merchandise)

These 2 merchant names mostly get on RuPay debit card.

"PHONEPE PVT LTD" merchant name eligible, mcc code 7399 (mostly we get on visa/mastercard dc)

However, you will get all merchant names on all debit card networks.

I was exploring a few apps on the Play Store for credit card bill payments and came across something interesting. One particular app allows credit card bill payments only via another credit card—it doesn't accept debit cards. Of course, it charges a 1.25% fee. What caught my attention even more was the MCC used by the app, which seemed quite unusual.
Please don’t ask me the name of the app—I’m intentionally not sharing it. I don’t know how safe or reliable it is, and I wouldn’t want anyone to risk losing money by trying it.

But good score showed 'your payment of RS---- was unsuccessful.If money is deducted , it will be refunded within 24 hours" Please clarify will it get refunded back to my bank or it is successfully paid to my card?

My friend paid his bills today using IDFC Rupay on Zavo and he got points too, it was around 9 am today.

Two scenario:
1st: In the good score transaction will get updated to successful automatically in another 10 to 20 hours by morning tomorrow

Or else

2nd: the credit card amount which received in your credit card will be reversed back and the refund will be you should to you in 5 to 7 days to your debit card which are you have you

Same thing happened with me also but for PNB cc. Don't worry if you got the msg from the bank bill is paid.

Same thing happened with me also but for PNB cc. Don't worry if you got the msg from the bank bill is paid.

At max 1% byt again it's axis proceed with caution

I have SBI prime credit card for which I need to send another 11000 to complete the milestone benefit for the quarter because new quarter will start from June 1st before that I need to spend it it's a master card variant anybody have any solution on this

If you shop online buy some vouchers like Apay etc

In 24 hrs either one will happen. For me it was showing didn’t get credited to bank. But got that it credited after 6-7 hrs. If not they will refund you the amount

The second happened to me for yes bank itself... i didn't even get a notification on the reversal....later just was looking into statement and saw the money refunded then saw the credit card statement....their also same that transaction itself disappeared.....be careful

Did you guys know that we can open a minor account in IDFC and convert that account to wealth? @Abhishek012
