Views on HDB IPO

Shareholder category is more subscribed than retail. Applied for 13 lots in two categories.

Seeing current subscription, this may get subscribed 3 to 4 times.

HDFC shares went up by 2% up today. Not sure what that indicates for HDB. 😁

there is no point in applying in 13 lots in retail category. cause i think retail category will be fully subscribed and only 1 lot will be alloted. Shareholder 13 lot is good cause you will get more shares there. But your funds are blocked in retail for no reason

Agreed!!

Only rookie will apply more than 1 lot in Retail.

Also by looking at subscription no need to apply even 13 lots in SH category. Anyone who apply even half of the lots will also get allotment!!

Anyways it a good IPO, one should consider it!!😄😄

Applied 13 in two categoriea. And not just retail category. 😁

Currently, shareholder category is more subscribed then retail category. If retail category is subscribed 3 to 4 times (and not more), then one may get more than 1 lot easily. 😊

If some one want more than 1 lot he can apply in shareholder quota as here allotment is based on proportionate basis
so there 13 lot can be applied

It will most probably list flat with no major gains. The GMP has come to 75rs from 100+ a few days ago. With the lock-in period ending in Dec'25, the prices may fall further..
Don't expect a lot from this ipo.

These days i usually stay out of IPO as most of new gen big companies looks overpriced. And medium or small size companies look too risky with less credible info available.

One reason HDB caught my attention is that it is available at good discount from what some folks acquired about an year back. I could not find any reason for this discount. Also, this IPO has separate quota for existing hdfc share holder. So, that increases chance of allotment.

What are your views on this ipo? I am not looking for listing gain. Happy to hold for 3 to 5 years.
Because of the bigger established and more revenue-generation names in this zone—Bajaj Finance, Tata Capital, Aditya Birla; HDB— was forced to reduce its market valuation, and only because of this corrected valuation I am interested; otherwise, I usually stay away from IPOs.

It was actually reduced so as to make it attractive to the masses.. I am not in disagreement that unlisted was overpriced too as unlisted shares was trading at 1200+ a few months before the ipo.
Having a ipo price at even 1000 on the upper band would mean less volume and less participation, since the cost of a lot should be in the range of 15k. One of the reasons companies do a stock split, so as to reduce the price to get more participation. The issue here is all unlisted investors got screwd.
